It's because nobody in Seattle would ever need a gun.

Naa, its because no-one wants to be found out by their friends and neighbors that they own and like to shoot guns. Seattle is full of closet gunners I'm telling ya. ;)

We have to bring them out of the....err....whatever they are stuck in. :D

JBone:

Your thought about further north is certainly worth consideration. Two factors that I would need to consider are:

1) I live in the Snohomish area, do not want to move, and do not want a long commute.

2) Population density.

I appreciate your well thought response, however.

No problem, I hope it works out for you.

I hate indoor ranges.

Wasting my time and ammo shooting at stupid pieces of paper.

Following stupid rules because some dumbasses did something dumbass-ish.

NVM, I don't even like shooting at the national forest. I need some interesting targets. I might get an RC car and attach a target to it! Now that would be fun!!!!

I've always injoyed shooting indoors and outdoors, and I've also enjoyed (loved) your Avatar's.

Ummm... uh... yeah - he wins the avatar contest hands down!!!!!

M1 - would you mind sharing the name and contact information for the company that you found that does turn-key shooting range installations? You can PM if you like or send directly to ejb@ecgmc.com.

Thanks.

I will take outdoors whenever I can reasonably get it, and as weather allows.

I miss the free outdoor public range I used to visit up in Juneau. No fees, no rules except clean up after yourself. Just bring your own targets and train in whatever style you want.

I wish I had used it more while I was there, but ammo was pretty expensive and hard to get in that town.

A range that is not freezing, a staff that is not jacka$$eS and doesnt say open carry is against the law like the guys at Marksman in Puyallup, and if you sell guns, have one of each model you sell, so people can test fire a model before buying it. Some tables oppisite of the little itty bitty table you shoot from so you can set your stuff down and spread out a little, maybe a coat hook or two. Also know which holsters fit the firearms you sell.

good luck in your new endevour if you decide to go forward.

Most ranges that had those have eliminated them because too many people mis-handled their firearms. They'd spread out at the back table, load up, and then endanger everyone in the room by not practicing proper muzzle discipline.

Sorry, but all the public facilities have to address the "Lowest Common Denominator". Not everyone who has a gun is really safe with it.

Because of some of the dumbass actions I've witnessed at ranges I have seriously considered buying a Level II vest and wearing it when I go to public ranges..

No kidding. Norpoint had a guy a few months back fire off a round at the glass behind the range counter. Needless to say he was promptly escorted off the property.

How many holes are there there now? If only one, that's been there for years. The staff has been pointing to it for their "example" for some time now.

I can add a few things. Make the stops, hangers, walls and ceiling robust enough that you're not constantly shutting down for repairs, limiting usage, and complaining about damage to the customers. Let us rapid fire, use aluminum casings and steel milsurp ammo.

I'm willing to put up with curmudgeonly RO's, no draw from holster, and anti-suicide measures for non-members (such as bring a friend or your own gun to rent). I witnessed a suicide attempt at Sam's last year, and don't ever want to see that again.

Yea I wish I had that set up, the shooting isn't on my property but my house borders state land, so I just go hiking up to this area that's wooded and just plain fun to shoot however we like.

Also there's a couple of gravel pits about 1/2 hr. away, where we can shoot whatever and however we want.

We should make a meet out of it that way Green can open carry on his bike to go shooting!!!

They should set up a bullet proof shower house/suicide room at the morgue, for those who dont want to be here any longer. I say good riddence. If your not serious and looking for help get a counsler, if you are serious, then so be it. Just dont do it in front of people and ruin their day. Thats just rude.
