The Senate Committee on Criminal Justice passed SB 234 on a 3-2 party line vote. Sen. Charles Dean voted in favor of the bill with reservations. An amendment was adopted removing the requirement for retention training, retention holsters, and display of CWFL prior to the vote on the bill. More details to come.

He still wants special exceptions to the 4th Amendment and to ignore standing court rulings on the matter... So he doesn't go up very far.

It goes to Judiciary where it must be heard by the evil/idiot Senator Thrasher. He has killed campus carry this year so hopefully he won't want to upset gun owners any more than he already has.

Do we even need Dean's vote at the full Senate? It's humorous that his "reservation" is the very reason given for half the states NOT EVEN requiring a license to OC. It's assumed in the common law that an OCer has no sinister intentions and is peaceable.

A special thanks to the guy from "Floridians to Prevent Gun Violence"

No matter what old Charlie really thinks, he does NOT want to be associated with the anti-gun groups. We'll never know but it's possible it pushed Dean over the edge in our favor. Hopefully, that guy will show up to all the meetings in the future.

Thrasher is the Chair of the Rules Committee.

Dean said he'd vote no on the floor.
