Welcome

Welcome to OC. You will find answers to all your OC questions at the site devoted to Alabama carriers, and that is www.alabamaopencarry.com Alabama is indeed an open carry state.
There you will find like minded helpful folks who will offer assistance and suggestions.
I think the Ruger Security and Speed Six models were great. Have a few myself. The are very rugged and dependable, think it was a mistake for Ruger to discontine them.
Holster suggestions: You will find that you have a wide selection of holsters availale to you as long as you own that Security Six. It shares the same size frame a the K frame Smith & Wesson.
Go to eBay.com and search for K frame holsters, you'll probabaly get over 200 hits. A good quality leather belt holster will probably be your best bet. Get one to go with the type of clothing and belts you usually wear. i.e. black or brown. You will most likely end up with several in your search for the one most comfortable for you. I suggest you get one with at least a thumb snap for security.
Again, welcome to OC, be safe and be prepared.

Thank you for the info. And I love my security six. And I was a great mistake to discontinue them but they didn't flood the market with them so they are worth a little bit. And on a different note would like to say that this site has been very helpful in educating myself. Keep up the good work guys and girls!

Since the questions are specific to Alabama, your best bet is to re-post this under the States\Alabama section. There's where you'll find those experienced with OC in Alabama.
