Makes sense?

How does this make sense? If youre real good you can reload a semiauto handgun in under a second. What will mag capacity do to stop something like this???

It won't. It will just make them feel better... until it happens with an outlawed magazine or a lo-cap magazine. Then they'll go after 15 rounders, then 10, then 5, then 2.... you get the picture.

I maintain that had Mr. Lougher been using standard-issue Glock mags (17 round), he may well have been able to reload unimpeded and might well have not stopped shooting until he ran out of ammo.

The fact that he was using 30+ round mags, (which are about a foot long) actually made it EASIER for a bystander to grab his mag during reload, and made it harder and slower for him to facilitate reloading.

Had he been using some castrated variant of a 10-round mag, he may well have fired 100 rounds before he was stopped instead of 28...

The problem with the anti's is two-fold:

1) they know almost NOTHING about the technical aspects of firearms, and most of what they THINK they know comes from Hollywood, and

2) when they don't know something, or haven't seen a movie about it, they make things up based on wild fever-dream extrapolation and based on their own projected rage.

We are not working against rational people, here folks. Those that would abolish the RKBA in Congress, in the Bureaucracy, and the "anti" organizations are NOT rational, not knowledgeable, and they are willing to tell ANY lie to get their way.

By definition, they are sociopaths.

We shouldn't be fielding people like John Lott or Larry Pratt to argue with these people. We should be fielding clinical psychologists, criminal pathologists, and LE profilers.

Most low-level anti's aren't political activists, they are sick, sick little people who are filled with repressed rage, and formulate their external reality based on their own internal torment. We would be well served to treat them not so much like political opponents, but like the sick, disturbed, mentally twisted victims of their own demons that they are...

The people at the top of the movement, though, like Josh Sugarmann and Paul Helmke, are FULLY aware of what they are doing, and of the historical legacy to which they are aspiring, and should be regarded in that light as well...

Levy is obviously a dunce. How would one fellow with a 17 round magazine in the gun in his hand, and another 17 round magazine in the gun in his pocket be less dangerous than another fellow with a 33 round magazine in the single gun he has? Maybe limiting the number of guns one is allowed to own makes "sense" to him as well.

How many people in this country every year are shot, stabbed, strangled, beaten to death, killed by drunk drivers, permanently disabled, maimed, or emotionally scarred from physical assaults, robberies, burglaries, etc? A hint - 6 digits at least

This Arizona terrorist attack on a segment of our society was cruel, sadistic, and tragic and will be disgustingly used by anti-constitutionalists to compensate for the rejection of their progressive agenda for this nation in the last election. We must accept the fact that these weasels will be milking this tragedy for every last drop of grief that can be extracted from it.

For all the hysterical rhetoric about finding "solutions" - there will be no effective solutions from the government. These kinds of tragedies will not abate until people wake-up in the morning, look in the mirror, and endeavor to confront the reality that this is a dangerous world -always has been - and then determine to be mentally prepared, and equip themselves for defense against the very real and present dangers that exist in our communities everywhere, every day.

Well, quite simply, if he was an actual gun rights "advocate," then one would find it hard for him to explain a backing for further restrictions. The mere talk of restrictions are based on emotional hysteria, perpetuated by the mass media and quietly backed by the administration and it's worker bees.

One's true beliefs are shown during times of adversity. He is apparently an anti-second amendment bigot.
