These were great little rifles if my memory serves correct. Why let the cops have it? Just curious?

It is a nice little rifle. Usually sells used for $200-$300 according to gunbroker. Needs very minor work. It does shoot fine as is. If you or anyone wants to buy it, PM me tonight and I'll provide more details.

Tomorrow morning!

Ok, I was able to confirm tonight that my schedule is open for tomorrow. I will be there.

I encourage everyone to bring a video recorder if you have one. Even if it's just a phone app, try to have something for video. Cops involved in a buyback have been known to act pissy towards people like us trying to legitimately save good guns from destruction. Ask Doug. I believe there's video of a buyback he was in the vicinity of.

EDIT: Yep, here's Doug's video proof of the need to be prepared to video when you're at a gun buyback:

Great advice... I only add that I strongly suggest taping ANY transactions you make that day... either with the LEOs or with someone with one to sell to you.

alot of us got some good deals, S&W 9mm for 200 and a mossberg 500 "pistol" for 200, great condition mosin sporter and when i left there was a bidding war on an unfired norinco AK pre-ban 95% condition.

mostly junk came through but most of us found deals.

my plan was to sell a junker for the gift card and then offer the card plus cash for a new gun, so i didnt bring much cash....and for some unknown reason(i believe because they knew my plan, cannot prove) they refused my sale.

they had a 2 gun per person limit though and some guy brought in 3 junkers, i turned one in as my own, gave him the card and he gave me $10 so i made some profit at least.

Details man, details ...S&W 9mm (5906, 6906, Sigma, etc...)??? :p

Giving up civil rights for security is a certain way to lose both!

wow, that sounds really great! any police interference?
so how can you in the same story say that they refused your sale and then say you turned one in? i think you're leaving out details?

the guy directly in front of me had 3 JUNK long guns, buyback had a limit of 2 per person.i told him i would turn one in for him, this was said about a foot away from the cop taking them with him listening, basically he put the gun up there, i told the cop that it was being turned in by me and to give the card to that guy, they did that and he gave me $10. then i came up and he refused to take my junk 12 ga.

Interaction with LPD Chief yesterday at the start of the buyback:

http://qik.com/video/53776908

PD Cruiser coming up to probably point his dash cam at us the whole time and intimidate others from selling to us. After he walked away, he left his cruiser sit there.

We carried out our transactions across the street, outside the view of his camera.

More fo the police chief:

That's all of our police interactions.

no not one of my 870s(those are 16 and 20 ga for record), old cheap 12 ga. single shot with bad pitting in barrel, originally one of my grandfathers, was passed onto my cousin whom took it rabbit hunting once, put it in a case covered in dew and left it in there a year wet with a dirty barrel, recently given to me since he was moving to VA beach. still should fire but i havent tried since before the torture test.

he also almost ruined a 12 ga bolt action, a 30-30, .410 bolt action and a 20 ga. mossberg 500 which he gave me as well, probably wont shoot the .410 anymore but the others are salvageable...mossberg needs some sanding, a new barrel and refinished and the others need sanded and refinished too

That was my deal! I had a great time, and rescued a great weapon. I'm cleaning her now, as I catch up on my forums reading . . .
:)

Here's the pic of me celebrating my first ever gun buyback gun save! :)

I wanted to take the pic shaking the hand of the gun seller, but he didn't want to be on camera so he's off to my left getting back in his vehicle. :)

My footage of the chief a little later. Funny thing, she came up to me saying she had met me earlier. WTF? I told her, uh, no. She's a funny girl! Needs to scrub her po-po shades a little more often. :)

Maybe she has a picture of you hanging up in the squad room under a banner entitled "Most Wanted"?
