We have a couple of posts on the Appleton open carry issue. Now I am not sure if the protests against the police stop were successful. But if this town was in Texas there would have been an overwhelming response.
One thing in this article raised my eyebrow. I thought city/town/village ordinances are not supposed to be more restrictive than the state's. But it seems from that not all states have it that way. If they did, there would be so much confusion. For example one would have to bypass a city/town/village if they had more restrictive laws than the state, or you would have to store your firearm away in your trunk after unloading it every time you entered a city/town/village. Anyway the article is encouraging because the 2A seems to have been whittled down to a 'matchstick'. It is amazing to read that the city police would defy a state law.
