If this person is typical, the Joyce Foundation (WAVE's sugar daddy) employes some people with a strange attitude toward human life.

I've owned "one of the evil black rifles" for 6 or 7 years now....It still doesnt talk to me,like everyone in the Anti world claims it would.
Right after I got it I kept running to the bathroom and lookin in the mirror...Nope,no changes...still me.

Here's the original blog post:
http://www.commongunsense.com/2010/12/whats-natural-about-gun-rights.html

Here's from one of the comments:
"It's about the gundorks belief that the Constitution *recognizes* rights. Such a notion is outdated, and should be put to rest. The Progressive Judge Sotomeyer has it right, during her confirmation hearing, she proudly stated that the Government *grants* rights."

The scary thing is, these people are allowed to reproduce, to drive a car, even to vote.
Both the justice & that commenter scare me.

My rights come from God, nobody has the legal authority to take them from me.

The government grants rights? Urrrp. I just threw up into my mouth a little. The government only derives its power from the governed, NOT the other way around.

That all goes back to the concept that you should 'never give power to the government that youd want your enemy to have'
Start saying that the 'government grants right' you cant complain when YOURS are altered, molested or taken away.

Its because of people like that the Bill of Rights was demanded. Of course they are going to want to neutralize its protections.

Nothing to be scared of. Just goblins seeking to weaken you. Everyday state of affairs for the last 30-50K years.

Yes, they are dangerous. Yes, they should be countered. No, don't be scared. Just keep supporting groups who fight them.

I was taught many years ago that the hardest job in the military is overcoming the average person's natural reluctance to take a life. There is a valid reason we trained on silhouette targets instead of bull's eye targets.

To put a point on it; that person was talking out their azz because their mouth knew better.

Then again, it may be because they are afraid of their own emotions and, subconsciously, know they do not have the brakes on their emotions that normal people do.

It is because of the kind of government that the British imposed on the colonists that brought the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights into being. It was even then a hard fight to get all the colonies to agree to it.

Nothing to be scared of? Think man! Look at what happened to Germany, Russia, Italy, Poland... Need I go on? No one believed it could happen in their country either. But it happened! And, it can still happen even here in America. Count the number of communists (socialists) in our government today, even within the Administration. We are closer to losing our freedoms by our own government than any generation before us.

Since when has it become easy to take a life? I've always been taught to honor life, both born and the unborn.

I understand your concern.

In a roundabout way, I'm trying to say, "Buck up. They can only take our freedoms if we let them. 's why we have guns--to fight back. Just get over being scared; move into being angry and ready to fight back. The guns aren't intended to be a deterrent. They're intended to be used."

Its gonna happen, meaning the tyranny will deepen. Jefferson made three remarks--the tree of liberty needing to be refreshed, hoping we didn't go twenty years without an insurrection, and the natural course is for government to grow and freedom to shrink. We also have that other (historian?) (philospher?) who laid out a progression from freedom, to decay, to tyranny (with other points in between.)

The tyranny guys are gonna keep grabbing for more. They're just gonna keep trying. They're not going to stop. For example, even as we trade posts, Congress is pushing through a $1.2T spending bill. One point two trillion. In the midst of a very deep recession. In the midst of all their so-called concern about the national debt. (If Congress and the Federal Reserve aren't national security threats, nothing is.) In the middle of the mess we're in, despite their pious noises to the contrary, they are still playing the business-as-usual game. One point two f__king trillion.

I'll admit, it is not inevitable that tyranny arises. It is possible to stop it before bloodshed. But, I don't see it as being likely.

So, the question becomes, "What will I do when it arrives?" And, "How will I know it has arrived?"

If you are wondering if it's "time", walk outside and see if your neighbors are standing around arming themselves. If not, it's not "time" yet.

Seeing as firearm sales skyrocketed shortly after the 08 elections and ammo was scarce from 08, 09, and part of 10, I'd say, keep stocking up.
