Many people say, Haz, hang in, the people will finally wake up and demand their rights back. I wonder when that will be, if it ever occures?

This is what were up against. Average joe down under. Talk about dumb and dummer!

I'm listening to the radio this morning. Announcer asks a question and tells what the prize for the correct answer will be.

Question. In what country was 3 times world champion formula 1 driver Nelson Pekay born?

Clue; It was a South American Country. You can ring in now. He opens the phon lines, plays some music and then answers the callers!

Hi, Bill from, he names the town. Bills answer, Ahhh, FRANCE! . . . . No Bill, Its a South American country.

Hi Mary of, he names the town. Mary's answer, GERMANY! . . . . No mary, He was born in a South American country.

Hi John from, he names the town. John's answer, Would it be SPAIN? . . . . No John, Spain isnt in South America.

Lets go to Susan from, he names the town. Susan's answer, Is it JAPAN? . . . . No Susan its not Japan.

Announcer, "Looks like I might have to give another clue!"

Eventually, someone had the answer.

What the hell has happened to my country and its people? Who do these people vote for? Do they even know what country they live in?

Don't give up hope. We have all kinds of folks like that here in the United States. Do you have friends that are also interested in carrying? If you know some people, there must some more out there in big, old Austrailia. Just keep working on it, it's all you can do.

Yes, I know how deep the hole is mate. Unfortunately it just gets deeper every day. How about a politician who after promising the leader of the party is the one she is behind and she will support him all the way, stabs her leader in the back, and then makes a statement like this to get elected; "There will be no carbon tax under a government I lead," and as soon as she is elected she introduces a carbon tax. So, what do the Australian people do? NOTHING MUCH AT ALL, in fact her popularity is slowly increasing! Unfortunately, the people behind her who keep her where she is are all VERY ANTI EVERYTHING, ESPECIALLY FIREARM OWNERSHIP BY ANYONE AT ALL, INCLUDING POLICE?

I will continue to battle on but its not easy!

Are you still required to vote down under? My understanding is that at one time (perhaps still today?) you were fined for not voting.

Yeh mate, I know. Ha ha, Spelling has never been one of my better skills. I am after all only an uneducated coal miner ? At least i never wrote Nelson PK, but I did know where he was born and where South America is! Haz.

A government official, the nerd who is in charge of the census agency announced yesterday that anyone who refuses to fill in and submit the census forms which were to be filled in last Tuesday night will be fined $110. Hows that for a democratic government?
The only question not asked on the form was, "did you have sexual relations last night and with whom?"

I dunno, Haz. I do know for a while it seemed to be cool to appear stupid here in the U.S. Perhaps that's still a trend. There may even be a social reason behind it, like fitting in.

But to actually be ignorant? Sounds like a cultural issue more than anything else. We've got LOTs of cultural problems here in the U.S., to our detriment, so don't feel like you're all alone.
