Unicorns, according to legend, are a ferocious beast that is impossible to catch.
When one refers to a person or object as a unicorn that is the meaning.
For example; in the movie gone in 60 seconds Nicholas Cage's character was after a 1967 Shelby Mustang.
It was referred to as, "his unicorn" because every attempt to steal one had been met with failure.
