I have a WASR-10 ( ak 47 clone) always works fine. I like em.

But I prefer the gun that is my Avatar >> Smith & Wesson M76 9mm Submachine gun , made famous by Charlton Heston in the film , The Omega Man

A .50 cal will travel a mile in 4 seconds, give or take depending on the weight, humidity, rotation of the earth, muzzel velocity. If the sniper was trying to hit this guy and ended up hitting his gun, I could see it happening. Except that this guy would have lost just about any part of him that was even grazed by the bullet. lol

There are at least a couple guys presently serving that I know of could make that shot in the time outlined by the video. If they had time to line up the shot fiirst, and had one hell of a spotter dialing them in rite. But I would lean towards the SEAL team guys instead of the Army/Marine Snipers...................

As far as the National Geographic cover, they have been anti gun for many many many years. I think it was the late 50's early 60's when they started cutting out hunting and such. So this dosent surprise me at all.
