Additionally, if you are a wanted felon, you will be expecting and preparing for your door busted down at 3 am...They will be screaming POLICE! SEARCH WARRANT !

The gentleman who was murdered in that video had a negligible amount of marijuana.

What a heinous criminal. Surely, he should have been expecting a violent intrusion in the middle of the night by the government he pays his protection money to.

I wasnt replying about that man, I was replying to the original post that ARE wanted felons. I think I would be startled in the middle of the night and go for my firearm....but then I would hear the yelling of police and would NOT aquire them as a target, and then would comply with their commands.

Police want to find two men who committed a home invasion by pretending they were officers.
Investigators in Nicholasville say the men forced their way into a home on Shun Pike this afternoon by claiming to be police.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach police are investigating a home invasion in which the suspects pretended to be police officers to gain entry.

OGDEN -- A violent home invasion in Ogden may have been a case of mistaken identity. One person is in jail, and police are looking for two other suspects. It happened before 2:00 a.m. Tuesday near 160 Patterson Street.
Investigators said the men were armed with sawed-off shotguns and a sledgehammer when they broke through the back door of the home.
"They represented themselves by yelling, ‘police,' and then asked for drugs, money and weapons," Ogden police Lt. Scott Sangberg said.

It seems as though the tactics of the public-sector criminal gangs are so effective, they are being widely adopted by the private-sector criminal gangs.

Thats assuming the police actually yell anything.... they don't always do that (even when they are supposed too).

Btw, were you involved in the raid mentioned in the original post?

This is one of the best posts I have ever read on this site. Police use this tactic far too often. It is a formula for needless deaths. Only in extreme instances should no knock warrants be issued, instead they are passed out like candy to already sugar buzzed kids. Our legal/illegal system needs a complete overhaul, with much more input from law abiding citizens as to what policies should be. :banghead:

If a mediocre DA can indict a ham sandwich, a mediocre DA could get a felony warrant on anyone.

....oh, if a thug cop happens to see you 'go for your firearm' he will feel threatened and you won't have time to comply.

Naive question here: Why are military style raids the first option anyway? Why not just wait until the suspect leaves their house to go to the store or get gas or something and grab them on the street. Surely a lot less dangerous for the officers since they can chose the exact time and place to make their move.

There would be no justification for the cost of paramilitary/SWAT policing. Follow the money. Follow the fun.

Because it would allow the suspect to have a chance to cause a high speed chase or they would be in a gas station parking lot. Both of which would escalate the situation and endanger the public..

Then the officers would have picked the wrong time to make their move. You don't go for the grab when they are in a car.
