What are the laws regarding OC in NM? And is New Mexico an OC friendly State?
New Mexico is one of our "Gold Star" open carry states. There is complete state preemption of all firearms laws, open carry is increasingly common and law enforcement is well educated as to its legality. In addition, New Mexico has an extended domain law which effectively makes your vehicle an extention[sic] of your home. So you may carry openly or concealed in your vehicle.

Ok, so just that I understand if they sell vodka then its a place off limits to me even if I have a CPL? Also, what are the knife laws since I carry a knife as well and is there any restrictions? blade length, AUTO knives carry restrictions? And what about a back-up gun and restrictions on that?? Thanks!!!!
If the place serves liquor then yes, it is off-limits.
If it only sells liquor for off-site consumption, it is not off limits for permit-holders. CC necessary- no OC allowed.
AFA knives, I'm not aware of length limits but I have read case law which details that auto-knives are illegal. This includes "butterfly" knives.
You are only allowed to CC one gun here. If you have one open and one concealed you are good.
So for shopping centers like a grocery store I would have to CC while in the store?
Ok is there any place else that is off limits for OC or CC?
would a fixed blade knife be legal to carry concealed?
The knife laws here are extremely vague:
"any weapon which is capable of producing death or great bodily harm, including but not restricted to any types of
daggers, brass knuckles, switchblade knives, bowie knives, poniards, butcher knives, dirk knives and all such weapons
with which dangerous cuts can be given, or with which dangerous thrusts can be inflicted, including sword canes, and
any kind of sharp pointed canes, also slingshots, slung shots, bludgeons; or any other weapons with which dangerous
wounds can be inflicted; (Switchblades, Gravity Knives, Springs knives are illegal."
I think anything short of a sword is fine. The las cruces police killed someone a couple years ago after he charged them with a sword. Completely justified IMO.
