The North had laws segregating and banning blacks from in many areas. Illinois Lincolns home state had a bill banning blacks from migrating there, a bill Abraham Lincoln supported. New Jersey had legal slavery until 1865.

I think that the truly sad part, is that it isn't the 'old white crew' that would benefit most from the Feds being put back in check. If anything, most of the 'old money' types, stand to lose a lot in a real clash. Not so much for the underprivileged, who have spent the last 50 years going from one form of government endorsed servitude to another.

It's so overcast in central VA right now, that one couldn't tell if there was a moon to begin with.

Yeah it was spotty here but visible through the clouds and now the clouds are covering it again. I've never seen a lunar eclipse. Just got into astronomy this winter when I bought a telescope on clearance from Wally world for $11. Now I'm shopping for the attachments for my iMac lol
