Okay grape, I concede that point, well played, location and demographics not withstanding.

Fine a firearm is for hunting, target shooting and defense only, for lawful use.

the basics of safety must be well understood. cause life doesn't have a reset button.

A good defense starts with a good offense !

The BUSH corollary.

Still suffering "after all these years," still suffering from Bush derangement syndrome. I imagine that is a prodrome of the TRUMP derangement syndrome to come - if he himself alone survives.

please...history is filled w/intel derangement...
1. FBI's report regarding middle easterner(s) taking flying lessons...
2. we were only advisers for 19 years even after the release pentagon papers...
3. US was aware of Nazi camps
4. FDR, ignored intel warnings Japanese were focused on HI
5. ad nauseam..
the derangement list continues throughout our civilization.

the bush dynasty just got led down the red brick path...

At one time, a person could legally be owned by another person
At one time, women had no 'right' to vote
At one time, an eighteen year old had the 'right' to consume alcoholic beverages
At one time, a state had the 'right' to have a State Religion (even after the First Amendment was ratified, btw)

You have the right to free speech, but not the right to incite a riot or threaten death or serious injury.
You have the right to travel, but not the right to drive on the opposite side of the road as everyone else nor to drive a vehicle that occupies the entire roadway.
You have the right to vote (in a State election at least) but not the right to vote more than once.

You have the 'right' to bear arms in Florida Article 1, Section 8, but the right is not unlimited as the Florida Constitution states it may be regulated by law.

A right is not necessarily unlimited, much to the dismay of some.

Our rights must be exercised in a matter that does not interfere with the rights of others, hence some common sense must be applied while exercising said rights. With rights comes responsible.. However government does not have the power to " license or Tax" a right guaranteed to the people. See Murdock v PA (1943)..

Indeed. Absolutely, and I couldn't agree more.

However government does not have the power to " license or Tax" a right guaranteed to the people. See Murdock v PA (1943).

In precisely this same vein, I claim "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

Yet my own and many other states continues to infringe on our right, guaranteed to the people by our U.S. Constitution, to keep and bear arms by licensing concealed handgun permits.

That's wrong. Those states that have implement Constitutional Carry? That's right.

' Men should not petition for rights, but take them"... Thomas Paine

If it comes down to that. In the meantime, I'll continue helping legislators pull their heads out of their arses. :)

I'm sure you read the link to Article I, Section 8 of the Florida Constitution, so tell me please, where the right is taxed or licensed?

If you pay a fee of any kind either for a permit or license than[sic] in theory you are being taxed to exercise said right...
“No state shall convert a liberty into a license, and charge a fee therefore.” (Murdock v. Pennsylvania, 319 U.S. 105)

“If the State converts a right (liberty) into a privilege, the citizen can ignore the license and fee and engage in the right (liberty) with impunity.” (Shuttlesworth v. City of Birmingham, Alabama, 373 U.S. 262)

The state of Florida doesn't i̶s̶s̶u̶e̶ license or tax the bearing of arms, it Does license the carrying of concealed arms. So yeah, go tell the State of Florida, (or any other state that issues weapons licenses) they their requirement is unconstitutional. I eagerly await the results, but I ain't holdin' my breath.

Edit: I would say "Tell it to the courts in New Jersey" but if I read that state's Constitution right, New Jersey has no constitutional provision explicitly guaranteeing the right to keep and bear arms for ordinary citizens.

Indeed, no 2nd amendment provision in the NJ constitution which was revised in 1947,,, I and many others here are working on getting a provision..

if you carry a weapon it's illegal in florida. if you have a license to carry, you are exempt from the law.
In accordance with Florida Statutes 790.053 and 790.06, is a firearms license necessary for those individuals carrying for the purpose defined in Florida Statute 790.25(3)(h)?

Is it legal for a person 18 years of age or older to possess a concealed firearm or other weapon for self-defense or other lawful purpose within the interior of a private conveyance, without a license if the weapon is securely encased?

Is there anything prohibiting the carrying of a legal firearm other than a handgun (such as a rifle or shotgun that is not licensed) anywhere in a private conveyance when such firearm is being carried for a lawful use?

so you're implying that the freedom to carry a weapon on your private property equates to no restriction/license/tax on carrying arms in florida?
