I was just at the PDQ store in Madison (off Mckee Road next to the star cinema) and noticed that they have taken down the "criminals welcome" sign. I wrote their corporate office a couple of months politely stating I wouldn't be visiting their stores anymore until the policy was reversed.

Have they had a change in policy?? I might have to go back in there and buy a couple of cookies.

<ETA> Never mind... had to go back a couple of pages on the thread :D>

Elroy Theatre

I made the mistake of talking to The Elroy Theatre (I should have got on this site first) and she said that despite pressure from some of her employees that she is not planning on posting. But she seemed upset that I would be carrying in (I am a regular customer). I didn't see a sign at the Tomah Theatre, but someone here said that the Dells is posted. Does anyone know about Reedsburg? I would hate to have to drive more and pay more for my movies, but you have to stand on principles.

Thanks for all the great info everyone.

If there is no sign, then carry on.

I saw Blain's Farm and Fleet still has their anti protection as a corporate policy, but I haven't seen their stores posted. Anyone know if they still hold that policy?

Ashley Furniture Home Store (Retail Outlet)

--snip--

They're posted "firearms prohibited" off to the side of the interior door.
If we hadn't had a coupon to use ($25 off $35) we would have turned around & walked out.
As it was, neither of us was carrying & we told the manager & host we wouldn't be back.

LOL - I love the fact that you ate there, essentially on their dime - nicely played.

They posted when the law went into effect.

carrying at the casino

first I would like to open with, I fully support open carry and CC.

but I noticed that Oneida Bingo and Casino is on this list as infringing on our rights.

things you should know about native american gaming facilities (Oneida in particular)

native american tribes are soverign nations in and of themselves. (this makes them their own government independant of the federal government) and as such they are not required to abide fully by federal law. the constitution has no place on tribal land. neither do federal employment laws. (as such they are not infringing upon your rights as you have none being on their land)

also within their casinos and most of their facilities is a fully vested uniformed private security force (armed) and they are there to protect YOU aswell as the employees and the property. and with their numbers they do so very well in most cases without the need for the use of force beyond hand to hand. ( you should not even feel the need to carry there )

being employed there in the security department for 10 years I have been in a number of hands on situations and in those 10 years there has not been so much as one incident where any security officer has had to draw a weapon. it was always taken care of with the visual deterent of the sheer number of officers responding to any situation.

so just to set the record straight.. Oneida can be taken off this list due to the fact that we have no constitutional rights under tribal law on tribal land.

just my .02
Carry on.
