Maybe he was.........and maybe he wasn't.I only care what is clear at the moment, as it should be. The video shows that the man was surrendering all but clumsy. Nothing before that makes a lick of difference. The courts is where justice is handed out, not on the street. Until police get the message that following the law is for all there will be only spotty respect for police. And in the long run a growing hatred.
Want to support the police profession? Then support professionalism and following the law and due process.

Video doesn't lie Grape ... re-watch it and report back an opinion based on the video.

Too much unseen, much unheard. Has been discussed here already.

I find your inference insulting.Grape wearing his rose colored glasses....I guess he's entitled to his opinion.
I DID NOT make the statement you attribute to me. That was made by Logan 5 and I totally disagree.
(16) NO FALSE ATTRIBUTIONS: Editing quoted posts by another member to make it appear as if they said something other than what they intended will NOT be tolerated!
I have no problem having general conversations with LEOs, firemen, auto mechanics - people from all walks of life. I do so everyday.
No, I made the comment, not Grapeshot. I strongly believe that if a cop is assailing someone unlawfully, they should be assailed the same. It's called karma. They deserve no immunity while in the commission of a crime.I DID NOT make the statement you attribute to me. That was made by Logan 5 and I totally disagree.
Doesn't the second paragraph counter the first paragraph? Just wondering.(16) NO FALSE ATTRIBUTIONS: Editing quoted posts by another member to make it appear as if they said something other than what they intended will NOT be tolerated!

Sometimes it's not a matter of what IS on the video, but what is not on video because of where the video is. A video is a great tool. However, it is still only documenting a third-party position. In order to tell the story more accurately the cop should be wearing the camera unit, and as much as I deplore the intrusion into privacy, so should the victim.Video doesn't lie Grape ... re-watch it and report back an opinion based on the video.
The continuing efforts to convince you of what you saw with your own eyes is not really what you think you saw with your own eyes. Many cops do this, roll up with facts floating around in their head, ignoring what is evident before them when viewed with their own eyes.
.
Very true as seen here many people convince themselves what they see or saw is totally different from what happen based on their personally agenda and opinion.
Then when the wrong assumptions are made they can't or refuse to admit they were wrong or jumped to conclusions that are not supported.
Personally knowledge, training, experience are all factors that can lead to some one to the what, when and how of defending them selves in any given situation.
Such a tired argument. You have faith. Faith in your righteous brothers. Video or any other evidence must not be able to explain the simple fact of the purity of all cops. Thus the tired ol argument of there are other intangibles unexplainable to the unrighteous that absolve all cops of all wrong doing.
Here's a good example. You stupid idiots will probably find this photo appalling but this righteous cop had to karate kick this handcuffed seated woman. You just can't understand why cause your not a cop.

Not this cop's first rodeo. Why is this miscreant not in prison on felony conviction? What is sad is that the other cops on the scene did not immediately place that cop under arrest for his egregiously unacceptable behavior. But, this video may not tell the whole story.A Rhode Island cop, who was slapped with a 10-year suspension in March for kicking a cuffed woman in the head outside of a casino, is now fighting for his job.
