We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. Any move entails a lot of technical details and I suspect we will encounter a few issues as the new server goes live. Please be patient with us. It will be worth it! :)
Please help by posting all issues here.
The forum will be down for about an hour this weekend for maintenance. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Supposedly some guy carried in a park and some lady had a fit about it.
Follow-up article about the city council considering a ban.
Having not open carried very much lately, I will definitely be open carrying in Corvallis if they decide to pass a law against it.

The order of events seems odd to me, almost as if the guy was openly carrying? I know this wasn't Hoss, but I'm not sure if the killed man might have been known by any (or was a member) on...
tl;dr: Sued Corvallis PD officer in federal court for unlawful detainment, won.
This post has been on my mind for some time, and finally I feel that I can share it with you all, as the dismissal of the case was filed today. As you may or may not remember, on October 26, 2011 (ironically the...
Dogbait mentioned this in the Board of Higher Education thread, figured it'd be nice to have this separated out.
SB 1594 has been changed: http://oregonfirearms.org/alertspage/2012%20alerts/02.28.12%20alert.html
Here's the proposed changes (I believe this is the latest)...
I'm kind of surprised nobody posted the video of the guy in Hollywood that was standing in the middle of the street and shooting at people for a while. Figured it should be included in the collection of random shootings in California that could have easily been stopped had the state respected...

Large police turnout for a large group of men and women exercising their rights. Weapons drawn by police officers, a pain compliance hold (I believe) was used, and the officers let several armed individuals...

I'd recommend anybody living in Fresno to attend the city council meeting next week and voice your support.
If an officer pulls you over and finds out you have a CHL, are you required to show it (assuming you haven't admitted to having a concealed weapon)? I'm guessing that there is no requirement since I haven't found any information that says otherwise, but I figure somebody here might know the...

Don't know if the participants are members here or not. RPD detains several people for a while but ends up not doing any 12031(e) checks. RPD also brings a shotgun to the food court. Fun stuff.
I'm guessing there is case law that will clarify this, but I don't know it. Hopefully somebody does. ORS 166.360(4) states:
Obviously if I'm open carrying without a CHL I can't go into a school building. But can I go onto school grounds? The law is less than clear on the subject and the Oregon...

Nothing very positive to read as far as I can tell from the CGN thread. Remanded back to district court. Opinion says a regulation...
Canal+ is a french television station that did a piece on open carry in the United States. They visited members of the Virginia Defense League and came out to San Francisco to film a trash pickup event and then later hang with the Livermore open carriers for a day of shooting.
It's in French...

And firearms are prohibited there as you can see from this thread: http://forum.opencarry.org/forums/showthread.php?62202-Just-got-escorted-out-of-Nordstrom-Chandler-Fashion-Center.&highlight=Chandler+Fashion
I'm sure nobody here is...
