Then the restriction is from Google? The Play store explicitly says the app (the free one) is not available in my country. I shall certainly be bookmarking the website and making note of relevant stores in the required area. Thank you for the reminder.

Yeah it's a google (and apple) thing. They have different markets, and it doesn't make sense for us to sell outside of the country... We don't want an influx of bad data.

Yeah it's a google (and apple) thing.

I know next to nothing about Apple but I know Google is one of the worst for censorship and I make frequent use of proxy servers to circumvent it for one and two just to make it that much more difficult to spy on. Not that it would likely have much effect but still an act of defiance i'm more than happy to continue

If I couldn't envision a case where a business owner had some legitimate or legal reason for discouraging OC, I'd be in 100% agreement.

You CAN envision such a case? I can't. If they are only "friendly" if they can't see it, then that doesn't seem very friendly to me.

Maybe break it down further to "OC unfriendly, CC accepted" or something like that? If, like Costco, they don't ask you to leave but DO ask you to cover it (which would be illegal here if you don't have your CHL), then at most that's neutral (out of sight, out of mind), but not friendly.

Of course, I guess that's what the comments section is for...

While the statute does prohibit concealed carry:

Prohibited Conduct and Where Unlawful to Carry - Section 18.2-308.012
Section 18.2-308.01: Private property when prohibited by the owner of the property, or where posted as prohibited.
§ 18.2-308.012. Prohibited conduct.
§ 18.2-308.01. Carrying a concealed handgun with a permit.
Where are you getting your expanded titles from?

This statute refers specifically to where concealed carry by a CHP holder is prohibited from carrying.

There does not seem to be a parallel statute for open carry, since open carry does not require any kind of "permission slip." In that case the gun-buster sign would not seem to have any force of law attached to it, even though the owner could certainly ask/demand/tell an open carrier to leave and if they refused, could summon the police and formally trespass the open carrier.

C. The granting of a concealed handgun permit pursuant to this article shall not thereby authorize the possession of any handgun or other weapon on property or in places where such possession is otherwise prohibited by law or is prohibited by the owner of private property.

OC being prohibited by an establishment with a no gun sign is evident. This section merely stresses that a CHP does not override such prohibition.
