Maybe I gave a bad choice of words, but just to clarify I don't open or conceal carry in uniform. I just have it in my car. I was just using the uniform as an example, because a uniform seems to gather a lot of looks from your regular citizens (or at least that I notice for some reason).

And for the record, I'm Air Force reserve (so ABU ;) ), and Air Transportation, so definitely "no need" for carrying, in the sense of line of work (not to say personal defense isn't a consideration, because it certainly is for everyone).

Edit: And as for the picture, I'm prior Army, so that was the reasoning behind the ACU's in my picture. Found them to be rather good shooting pants, especially with my leg holster, and don't have any use for the ACU's at the moment so why not? :)

Makes sense to me. Just thought I'd mention it since I've seen guard guys do it and I personally earned a write up on it.

Not a ton of outings recently.

Today went down to Froyo Downtown Spokane for some Yogurt with the family to celebrate my son's 3rd birthday.

After that went to Waterfront Park at Medical Lake with my Nieces and 3yo son and we played at the park and I watched them swim. Not a word said, there was lots of people at the park tonight.

Just another quiet day in the Spokane Area.

OK here is some excitement from Eastern Washington, I got a thumbs up at the gas station in Deer Park yesterday after a double take. Other than that its been pretty quiet I OCed all the normal places without a peep out of anyone. The new manager person at Fred Meyer did have a second look to make sure she saw what she thought she saw but did not comment.

Lets see - Last weeked I was in Deer Park and went to both hardware stores and both auto part stores looking for a fine threaded no. 12 screw for the carberator on my '78 Ford F-250.
Naturally I was wearing a .44 thumbuster in a leather gunbelt with 12 spare round in loops on the belt.
At Napa, one old gent next to me in line refused to talk to me when I asked him where the brake fluid was kept, but eventually ( the clerks take forever in that store ) asked why the heck I thought I “needed to carry that thing.” He went on at some length when he finally got to talking, and said I didn’t stand a chance if some gang members saw me and other rubbish.
He said his son was also one of those nuts who liked to carry guns. I’m afraid I didn’t have much to respond with so I just let him ramble on till he ran out of things to say!

In town...

dropping of my youngest for college this weekend in Cheney.

Bi Mart (Cheney), signed her up for a membership and bought some dorm room stuff.... had a gentleman in a wheel chair pause and say he supported the 2A and that he should get one for protection. :)

Bed Bath and Beyond (Division St), more goodies for the dorm.... no issues no comments...

Target, more goodies.... no issues, no cooments....

Red Robin, dinner time! and again, very casual and easy going....

Any one doing coffee or anything on Sunday?

I work Sundays, the family will be at Silverwood all day Saturday and I'll be home. I can break away from chores anytime Saturday if you'll be around Spokane/Valley.

Red Robin you say, last time I was there OC they sat me at a table and a waiter took my order and brought my food, I ate, paid the bill and returned to my car. Does anyone know a good lawyer in Spokane, I think I am going to sue them.

I will not get back home till Monday sorry I missed you.

No worries...

At Red Robin, we were seated immediately(no waiting in the lobby) on the left side of the restaurant and I sat facing the door, therefore my firearm was on the inside of the booth. Not sure if anyone even noticed.

A bump from page seventeen

Jan. 16th 2013 2pm. to 4pm. City of Spokane Use of Force Commission report to the citizens. City Council Chambers in City Halls lower level. I have attended five of the meetings, not alot to say about them. I got to introduce myself and say hello to the new Chief of Police Frank Straub. The New York double take was the best part.

NICE! Glad someone got to pop his OC Cherry. Pretty sure he is not used to seeing Citizens carry, let alone in Council Chambers of the City Hall! If you are following the Oak Harbor thread hopefully you saw the Council Meeting video where one of the council men left the meeting because a citizen was carrying in the chambers. I just hope for Spokane's sake that Chief Straub takes it in stride and realizes he's not in NY or IN and upholds the laws and the Constitution of WASHINGTION State!

To keep it on topic haven't done a whole lot of OC lately due to cold weather but look forward to seeing everyone at Donut Parade Saturday the 26th. Anyone invite the Chief yet? ;)

Well, if he did not know the law before, I'm sure he does now. IMHO, I would bet the first quiet moment in his office he pulled up RCW 9.41.300 and refreshed his memory...:)

I would have loved to be there with you.

I rescind my invitation to the Chief. Well, I never really made one to begin with but suggested someone should. Apparently he has brought his "Big City East Coast Mentality" with him. According to him he agrees with some of Obama's orders, and he supports High Cap Magazine Bans. Sheriff Ozzie stated that we don't need new rules we just need stronger enforcement of the ones we already have!

http://www.kxly.com/news/spokane-ne...laws/-/101214/18159302/-/11i567y/-/index.html

So I'm pretty sure that Straub wouldn't support our right to carry how we choose since he doesn't even "see the need to have them available" (High Cap Mags...)

I CC in Spokane everytime I go to Spokane, it is a full frame 45, so most of the time it is not very CC'd. I am reading this thread with interest, might start OC, I just don't know how I would react to a Terry type stop, I know the law, and I know my rights. Just not sure I would articulate it in a calm manner. Has anyone been stopped and questioned down town?

No, I have never been stopped in Spokane.

If you are not involved in a CRIMINAL activity, there can be no Terry Stop. Openly carrying a handgun is not a criminal activity.
