Hey, OC fam. We are moving to the Tucson area in a month, and I was wondering if there was any public or private land that allows shooting. When we lived in Washington I often went to a couple of the state owned gravel pits.

Pima county shooting range near the fair grounds. It's a controlled range, nice folks. I never had an issue with anyone/rules etc.
There's 3 Points gun club/range. I think they have the longest range in the AO. Haven't been to it yet.

There is an indoor range here in town on 22nd st I think. Um, lots of bad reviews online. I've been to it a couple times, not really my thing. No large caliber and they do let you rent pistols. I could use my 22 rifle, but nothing bigger and they do check ammo.

Reddington Pass road at mile 6, there are pull off areas where you can shoot open. Please be sure to pick up what you take in. Just pay attention to the signs.

There was a nice pull off area at the bottom of Mt Lemmon, couple years ago, the county closed it off because someone started a FIRE using Dragons Breath rounds. (FFS folks, do we really have to tell you about fire dangers here in AZ??)

As far as BLM etc, you would have to ask around.

Safety tip. Always take someone with you and never leave a public range empty mag. People do watch.

As the weekend progresses, I'll check back in with more info as it comes to me.

Welcome to Tucson! Bring water.

I've only been to 2 stores here in town. 2nd Amendment(now called Turners) and Diamonback(sp). No complaints with either. I think Turners does vet discount.

If you have a CCP, transfer it to AZ, you literally walk into gun store and walk right out with new toy. If you don't have one, you will be at the mercy of the background check time.

There aren't a whole lot of stores that post the BAN poster on them. Walmart on Broadway/El Con, has a sign that ASK's, not to open carry. I sometimes over reach a shelf and it becomes OC. LOL

There is an app that actually keeps track of what business's forbid carrying. I'll remember it shortly...... .. .. maybe not.
