Hey there folks, been lurking for a bit and a first post here for ya. OC'ed at Wal Mart in Norman off of I-35 today and got more attention from a produce guy than anyone. He was visibly upset and scrambled to who I am guessing was a superior (or maybe just another checker). He then scurried off to look for the gunbuster sticker on the door. I ignored him but could clearly overhear him on the way back in stating "It's not there!" And then I believe he made a remark about how they needed to fix that. Finished up and left with no incident. From there a real quick in and out at Atwoods on Highway 9. No problems there although I was literally only in for maybe a minute. And btw.. howdy to all the new friends I have met since Nov. 1

It was great to meat you at the range, thanks for introducing yourself to me. I still think it was funny that I was the only person open carry at a gun club gun range. Maybe many people did not realize the rules hand changed to allow it.

Traveled to Talequah this weekend and on the way home had to stop for gas. Stopped in Okemah and the Valero and the Phillips 66/Fiesta Mart across the street both had up gun buster signs so we went to Loves on the other side of the highway, didn't see any signs so we got gas. It was a little higher and not 100% gas but thats ok I don't mind as much if they are not denying my carry rights. Also stopped at the Catfish Round up in Seminol, no sign up and no has said anything yet but will let you know if that changes after we leave. Carry on.

I have been OCing since Thursday when I'm not at work and been to the Walmart off of I35 and haven't had an issue. I been inside Braums and Homeland without a problem. I hope to get together with other OCers from Norman for coffee sometime.

Yesterday, I stopped in at the Braums in Chickasha. It was very crowded, and nobody even seemed to notice. Also stopped at the service plaza on the HE Bailey Turnpike and not a damn was given. I've also OC'd at the Stroud service plaza. No issues there, either.

That's okay. I bet the other places also have ethanol in their gas.

Did you have to go inside? If not, is a sign on a door sufficient to prohibit OC on the property or is it only effective for the building?

Don't have a problem with that philosophy at all. I was curious about the sign part.

Good luck to him on that one. I believe he will find that Wal-Mart corporate policy is to follow the law of the state where the store is located. If OC is legal, I believe that even the store manager has no authority to post the store.

Now, nothing prevents a manager from asking you to leave if a sheeple customer complains that (s)he is "uncomfortable" with you OC'ing. At that point, I would ask the manager to come outside with me (you gotta leave if they ask !), whereupon I would ask him where exactly he gets off deciding that the sheeple's comfort is more important than mine ("I'm uncomfortable knowing I can't protect myself and my family if a thug decides to cause trouble in your store !!!").

I also am pretty certain there would be something distinctive about the sheeple customer that would cause me discomfort, and I would be asking the manager to eject them as well, so I could disarm and go back in shopping (I would never return, but you get the idea).

Finally, I'd make clear to him I'm working up the food chain to Regional and National, just so he thinks twice the next time a sheeple bleats to him and he decides they are more important to the store's bottom line than I am.

My dad taught me many years ago - "you don't HAVE to buy that one car - there's thousands more out there !!". Same with a store --- if they don't want my business, I'm happy to take it somewhere where my rights are respected. Sure, it's their store - but it's my wallet - and my feet !!!

Olive Garden, Walmart, and Stripes tonight all while OCing. No issues and I even talked with the manager at Olive Garden to thank them for supporting open carry and not throwing up signs like Applebees.

Also before going out my wife and I drove round gun buster sign looking. We only found one luckly but dropped off letters to Golden Corral (on the fence) and Applebee's (sign up) managers. I look forward to finding out their decisions.

Erin, please inform the Golden Corral manager who is 'on the fence' that their corporate policy is to follow all state laws regarding the possession of firearms on their properties. Please also inform him / her that in the event their store decides to hop that fence that you will be contacting corporate headquarters to inform them of their failure to comply with their organization policies.

As for Walmart, they too have a corporate policy in place which states that they follow all state laws regarding the possession of firearms on their properties. I was asked to cover up or leave a Walmart once because of a customer complaint when I was OC'ing. When I informed the manager that I would be contacting corporate with his name and store number, he changed his tune.

Just trying to help you guys stand up for your rights and not let these places pick on you when their bosses have long ago established that they can not!!

Saturday I ate breakfast at Chick-fil-a with a group from OK2A. About 20 of us...no issues.

Ended up checking out the new Dick's Sporting Goods in Moore...no issues there.

Went to Wal-Mart to pick up some prescriptions. First person noticed my firearm and was very vocal about it. This person was in the basket behind me in line and was about 4 years old. "Look dad, that's a gun right there." I smiled and chuckled to myself.

Then to Lowes..again, no issues.

Just got to my Dr office at southside medical and on the door are printed signs no weapons allowed. Ill ask the Dr about that as well as let him know every time I've been here before i had it on me

Don't forget to tell him that if he continues the policy you will be looking for a different doctor.

Does anyone know of a pain management Dr who is pro gun in the tulsa or broken arrow area just in case i need to find a new one

Nope, but fyi, I fired my Doc just 2 weeks ago.... It's easy to do and I feel better already. haha The Dove

I can't say if any are pro gun, but a phone call to their office should get that answer. A quick web search turned up this site that lists 32 in the Tulsa area:

Personally, I prefer DOs over MDs. They are generally more concerned with your overall health and open to alternative treatments.

Thank you i will defiantly look into that my Dr can not be truthful with why he feels the way he does, and his nurse is not sure either. I will be posting the conversations as soon as i can so all can read them for themselves.

Open carry in lawton

Walmart--- ok no problems all weekend. Starbuck ok ran into off duty lawton pd good guy positive about open carry, all workers at starbucks cool with open carry. Beans and briar cigar oasis only cool with conceal carry " owner slowly going to open carry as patron become used to it in lawton. So far not too bad except lawton mall and their gun buster signs.

He's not a pain management specialist, but I still highly recommend Dr. Michael Ritze. He is a State Representative and strong advocate for gun rights, co-sponsored most of the pro-gun stuff for the past several terms. 918-451-9988
