Ah, yes, Omega Man was fun! One of Heston's 70s cheesy sci fi greats.

Heston: "Because it's my home. And not Mathias [the head zombie] or any other son of a bitch is going to make me leave."

Ummm, yea. The Boondock Saints is an awesome fun movie but it doesn't have a pro-2A feel, it has an elitest class for those who decide to deal justice without affording suspects their right to trial etc etc. feel.

remember Rocco kills 3 guys in a diner for MAKING FUN OF HIM.

Everybody knows my stance on the 2A, but I have to say most movies with guns are Emperial. Giving our kids heros like superman and batman and the punisher lays the seeds for most people to accept the emperialistic criminal federal gov't we currently have. Its obfuscation media.

some pro 2a movies are

Shawn of the dead
Zombieland
Maximum Overdrive

...

come to think of it, every SHTF movie.

Red Dawn.

I think "statist" is a more accurate term, but you're essentially correct.

This is related to the "sheepdog" discussions we've had lately, as well.

Since it came up again, I went to see Boondock Saints 2 last night. Again, fun in a cartoon sort of way, but nothing special and certainly not pro-RKBA. It's not the sort of movie RKBA supporters want to be associated with, since it pretty much perpetuates Hollywood gun mythology and is a display of what not to do with firearms.

McX - with all sincerity, see a little-known film about the Thirty Years' War called The Last Valley. Hard to find, but has excellent cinematography, interesting battle scenes and great, juicy dialog.

Michael Caine and Omar Sharif give career-best performances in this 1970 film written and directed by James Clavell.

It's not especially gun related (some firearms are used, but swords and polearms still rule the day), but there's a strong sense of defiance of institutions both secular and religious that I think the folks on this board would strongly appreciate.

Not sure if Matewan belongs there. Hero of the film is a socialist agitator.
In addition, I asked the director, John Sayles, about the nimbleness with which David Strathairn (astute local sheriff) handled his guns.
He told me about the actor's background, and then went on to tell me that in real life supposedly some of the striking workers shot each other, speaking a bit contemptuously of "untrained people that didn't really know how to handle their guns."

Well, all of those have been mentioned throughout this thread.

And if you're referring to the list above, well, a whole bunch of other good candidates have been mentioned also and ought to be included.
