Jim (Deros) has been transferred to the UW Medical Center. He is pretty rough but is hoping a procedure will help.

While visiting today I noticed the gun buster sign. Haha, I have included the WAC language and the consequences. I 'may' be asked to leave. Notice that it must be a uniformed campus police officer and no one else.

Anyway, CC is my choice while visiting.

Help me understand why its legal to CC in here. Is this because its public property where you are at? And potentially you should even be able to Open carry? Im still trying to learn all these things.

The simple version goes like this.
RCW=Law
WAC=Not Law, meaning you are under no legal obligation to follow it. A WAC is an Administrative Code. It is used by State Agencies to regulate themselves and to follow their own set policies. WAC 478-124-020 only applies to employees and students of that campus. If a employee/student is found in violation of the policy they can be terminated, expelled, etc.
However, no legal action may be taken against them.

Gogo is not a student or employee there. He is protected not only by the Washington State Constitution but also by RCW 9.41.290 which is State Preemption.

You should read through everything under RCW 9.41 as it will cover most of what you need to know.

I thought it was cool as soon as we walked in on the rack at the door were all books about firearms and battle strategy.

those are the clearance racks. probably trying to unload all the evil gun books without totally losing money by throwing them out.

Headed up to Seattle today (Pikes Place Market).
First bus I got on there was a guy who asked it was real (yes).
Then he starts on about how guns kill people. I told him that people kill people. Then he told me about how he murdered 15 Pakistanis with an artillery piece. Then said see, guns kill people.

I was staying calm and when I realized that this conversation was going no where I stopped engaging him. He kept it up and the bus driver asked him to cut it out. The guy just would not stop. Then after the driver told him to 'drop it' (the conversation) he got frustrated at me told me he was still a commissioned Naval officer and that civilians had no need to carry guns. I too asked him to just 'drop it' pointing out that the driver had just asked for the same.

After that he signaled for the next stop as he was getting off he told me that I needed a new hobby.

The driver was calm he kinda apologized about the guy and thanked me for reminding the guy to 'drop it' he also told me that the guy was very opinionated. I told the driver that I was very opinionated also however I saw need to express my opinions in that fashion. (All of that was in Federal Way)

In Seattle I got a few looks and no comments that I remember.

:banghead: And the "artillery piece" did that all on its own, right?

:shocker:
1) need has nothing to do with it
2) yes, we will need them if there are many like him, willing to forget his oath to protect the Constitution

Were it me he had accosted, I'd have asked him how that true faith and allegiance thing was working out for him.

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

While we might inflame each other on a forum like this I was doing my best to represent the OC community in a positive light and then allow him to 'hang' himself.

That is why I not trying to antagonize this guy.

This reminds me of more of the conversation. He asked if I was a police officer, I told him that I was not. He then insisted that because I was armed that I was a Deputy Sheriff and then proceeded to call me "deputy." This guy was off of his rocker.

Had a bus driver stop the bus and call in to make sure that carrying a pistol on the bus was legal.

I told him that it was. He did not want to believe me. Then I mentioned that he was supporting tyranny by not knowing rights. Then I mentioned that ignorance of the law is no excuse. He had stopped the bus AFTER I had boarded and then was holding everyone else up.

I will note that it would seem that he was not an American though. He spoke broken English at best.

Carry around Seattle was no problem. I think there was 3-4 SPD on bikes who noticed me but kept their distance and never even approached me. The did seem to watch me for somewhere around .5-1.0 block though. I had stopped to do some window shopping and then when I started moving again they were across the street moving again at the same time.

No doubt if a police officer had shown up, the driver would have accused you of delaying the bus or some such thing. I've been noticing that the rate at which petty officials overreact then blame their innocent victim for causing the overreaction seems to be on the rise. The recent incident with the guy with the umbrella for example, "caused" school lockdowns, so therefore he must have been committing a crime...or something.

Did OC around Capital Hill today.

Got a thumbs up, a few looks, had cops googly eye my gun most that was said by cops was "good day."
Walked by at least 6 bicycle cops and did not count patrol car cops.

Had one guy believe that I was asking for opinions because I was OC and told me that it makes him uncomfortable. I told him that I did not care how he felt.

I then told him that he can have this conversation because people with guns had secured his right to free speech. He did not believe that.

No problems on the buses or at FW TC.

I would have asked him if he was asking for opinions when he carried a book or a newspaper, or if he cared whether his exercise of his first amendment rights made other people uncomfortable.

I did have a conversation much like that.

But it would be 'racist' to point out what group of lib-tard socialists he was a part of.

If your problem is his politics not his skin color, it's not racist.

Martin Luther King Junior himself wanted people to be judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skins, after all.
