Just be careful what they say and how you say it. They just did an article on gun protestors and had some misinformation about private sales at a gun show. Dont give bad media the chance to make us look bad after all our efforts to do the opposite.

Yes, but don't be scared to open your mouth if approached individually. We are each still lawfully-armed adults and don't want the appearance of being sheep of a different fold.

Short, succinct answers are best.

"Why do you carry a gun?" is the most likely question. Don't wait until it is asked of you before thinking of the best way to put the answer.

Telling them to go ask Dave instead is not going to look good.

I'll be happy if I don't talk to anyone all night, except for the "nurses..."

Late notice

I was at the rally today and I love OCing.

New to the forum, don't know anybody, but I might beable to make it to this thing. I'll be OCing my M1 Carbine....too coldies to comfortably CO a handgun, all my jackets are too big.

Honestly, I think OC of a long gun hurts us more than helps us.

And I am a huge fan of the M1 Carbine and recognize it as really more of a long sidearm than as a rifle, but the appearance of it will work against us.

This is not a camp where you can just lean it against the tent wall while sitting down to dinner, you know? It was certainly an effective "sign" at the rally, though, and I'd have probably done the same had I thought of it.

That said, I will defend to the death your right to carry it, and for those who have something similar as their only weapon, perhaps because federal law does not allow a dealer to sell them a sidearm, it can actually add to the statements, if allowed to articulate such.

It's one reason I will OC a six-gun. It will ride lower and below my leather Naval Aviator coat.

Seems like we had more than 20 hanging out at the Fremont Street Experience, enjoying the music and entertainment, and about half stayed and ate at the Heart Attack Grill.

As usual, most people didn't even notice! Of those who did, most gave us the same look they gave other people doing things they don't see everyday. Very few jaws dropped.

Oh yeah, and Metro wasted the time of about a dozen officers to bicycle around and keep us in view at all times. I think they were there for our safety in case some crazies tried to start something. I heard some of the religious zealots were attacked the other night. It was guaranteed easy duty for them and they knew it.

How would a group of young urban youth feel if their appearance caused the cops to follow them overtly all night? There would be a lawsuit involved. It just continues to show that we are the ones who will NOT cause trouble, of any kind.

Great turn out for this walk, love seeing as many as possible when we do plan something, big thanks to dave 'dont tread on me' for organizing this. Hopefully the news crew will have some great shots of all of us. By my count there was about 22 of us. Oh and people weren't running screaming away and once again no gun fights at the OK golden gate casino.

In other news, a mass murder rampage did not happen on freemont street on Jan 19th.

...Since I didnt go to the grill, I take it they were OC friendly?

Interestingly, the guy at the door that hands out the hospital wrist bands and examination gowns remarked: "So you guys need to keep those exposed, right?" Then he said they have an NRA sticker on the front door, but I forgot to look for it on my way out.

That's fantastic!! Even someone that probably doesn't know jack about the laws understands the premise of open carry. It tells me that the work we are doing is paying off.

The "police Presence" got the news correspondent worked up she talked to them with no luck. The Camera man was having issues getting shots without a large police presence. I attempted to talk to them as well. First attempt they were somewhat defensive... second try went better, I filmed the encounter but have not screened it yet. hopefully I can post it.
