"Officers and a county mental health clinician spoke with Marquez for more than 90 minutes in an effort to persuade her to accept medical help. Police said she was “uncooperative,” may have been suffering from mental health issues and appeared to be unable to care for herself."

Sure helped her well being.

Once she refused medical help, which she had every right to do the police and shrink had no right to remain.

Police say she may have had mental issues. Since when do cops get to make that determination.?

But with her dead there will only be the story told that gets the officials fat out if the fire.

Most of the time when the police are called. They are displaying behaviors' that show they have problems.

Other wise the police would not have been called.

Giving a clinically diagnoses is hard, but knowing they have mental problems is not that hard.

Pretty sure she would have fared better if the cops were not called.

Alive is mostly better than shot to death for being uncooperative with a BB gun.

Wellness check should consist on checking on health, a person has a right to their decisions on help. Once she refused they should have left her alone. Pointing the BB gun was stupid, but again if the police had respected her right to privacy she would not have died from their gunfire. It appears the landlord who initiated this circus was at odds with her, and was using the police to do his bidding, he should be charged.

According to that article, she blamed "ER" co-star George Clooney for getting her blacklisted from "ER" for her condemnation of Clooney for his denouncement of Harvey Weinstein.

She grabbed headlines last year when she accused her “ER” co-star George Clooney of helping to blacklist her from the series. In her Twitter account, which has since been deactivated, Marquez called out Clooney for condemning Harvey Weinstein and the many sexual allegations against the filmmaker, E! news reported in October. Marquez claimed Clooney had derailed her career when she spoke out about such harassment on the set of “ER.”

Cops were in that room for 90 minutes,. Any officer worth a darn would have spotted anything that could be a threat and neutralized it, such as the bb gun after being there for over an hour.

As others have posted they had no legal authority to even be there after the lady refused medical assistance.

The death rests squarely on the officers present incompetence.
