Which side to holster?

Well the wife is finally getting ready to OC this summer, practicing draws
for the big day.

So what is the best way for couples?
both strong side right hand.
left side right side with guns to the inside.
left and right with guns to the outside.

I just don't see her going hole hog with both mexican cross draws,
her with cowboy hat, me with mexican sombrerro.

So do I worry more of being shoved into each other binding inside guns,
or both guns on outside for grab attempt. Hers on inside mine on outside.

I have no troule with left side, or left cross draw. So there are lots of options.
Would be nice if the BG would email us with the method they will use on a given
day so we can carry correctly.

There's not particular right way I don't think. Do what works best for you and your wife in every setting. My husband and I are right side draws and there is no chance of bumping into each other unless we both shoot n move into each others path. Hopefully we both make space to the threat in the proper direction ;)

Are yall cross drawing?

If you haven't taken a ccw class together, I recommend it. We got a chance to take a weekend class and it helped to see how each other performed in the same scenario. So to speak, it made us more like a regular season team instead of just a team for the all-star game :p

Train together if you can.

No ccw class together. Can't risk it. Decades ago when I was ragging an MP
about his poor shooting at the range, he told me that an expert who kills the
BG has a lot more problems, than a '"lucky" shot by a marksman, don't leave a
trail for the persecution to use. I took this advice to heart.

I am practicing cross draw as I will be going that way once in a while.
It is real different for getting the muscle memory down.

I'm building a 3 axes targeting system, and will add rotation to it when I start
going to ballistic gel 3d targets. But that is for the long cold winter ahead.
Till then I just print out the targets on my plotter by the roll.

But it does change how you watch if you have a second chair.
Opens new avenues of response and also adds new dimensions to what to
train against. That is what got me thinking about where to carry for different
assaults. Myself, I look at it as, they won't get that close, but in a crowd
things can change. Both strong side, I will be on the outside, but then
started thinking about when I cross draw where to put the holsters?

It will be fun to find who gets the biggest reaction, MWAG, or WWABG
(women with a bigger gun) when out together. But had never thought about
how to OC in pairs till now.
Are the sheep more afraid of the gender or the tool?

Would have loved to OC at the TEA party in hoover, but after 40 hours to finnish
the taxes, I needed sleep more than the protest. I did burn my quarterly
tax payment forms insted of mailing them in with the money in support of it.

lol Well I can't say I agree with no training. There's a difference in shooting in a no stress environment to actually having the sympathetic system take you for a ride while you try to defend yourself.

Besides, judged by 12 than carried by 6 rings truer to what I take to heart ;)

Sounds like have it all figured out anyway. I'm out.

I've never heard of any credible stories where someone got in more trouble because they had gone through training, or used a special kind of ammo - that kind of thing. Either someone is justified in using deadly force or they are not, and even if it's against the Geneva Convention to use hollow-point bullets in combat, say, civilians can use them against each other. In fact, they are typically marketed as "defensive rounds" precisely becausethey "mushroom" out and thus inflict greater damage, as opposed to full-jacketed "target" rounds which are more likely to pass through a target and take much of their kinetic energy with them. Likewise, I don't see any (legal) difference whether someone is a lucky amateur or a trained assassin, if they are otherwise justified in a shooting incident. I'd rather train/practice and leave as little to chance/luck as possible.

As for holstering, there is no "right" way. Whatever is comfortable for you is best. I either carry at about the 3 o'clock position for ease of access when OCing, or 6 o'clock/SOB (small of back) for better concealment when CCing.

They go after boxers when they beat up people, just don't want to be the test
case for shooters. I have never heard of a sniper needing to defend themselves
by shooting a thug. The way the anti's twist the law I don't want to be the test
case.

No training I also agree is very bad idea. I am just learry of observed by gov
training. It is why I am making the tracks for a 3 axis target system. So I can
have more directions of movement for the targets. And if I can keep the costs
down I want to add 3d tagets with rotation as well out of ballistic gel.
The motion system is easy, the backstop area grows massively when bullets go
in so many more trajectories. So I start at the end of range and move back as I
get more plating for the walls and ceilings. Plus the deflectors to stop bouncing
bullets when you start adding shallow angles. Already have 5 pop up targets
2 on the right wall, and 3 on floor. The computer can control when and which
to pop up, and for how long. Compressed air cylinders are very quick response
for this. Still need to add feedback so they can register hits, and add
some speakers to allow for distracting sound effects. (flash bang types)

Long term is a 16 ft square sandbox at 42-58 ft so I can practice diveing for cover
and shooting on the roll. But lots more steel needed to get that far back.
If it gets the government spies worried I would go for UV lamps and real grass
in the range, I have never tried growing grass indoors, and how do you mow
it without contaiminateing the range with pollen and grass clippings?
So sand, and maybe some padded mats to keep dirt out of barrel.
But the idea of the DEA trying to break in would make the UV lamp a fun idea.
Imagine getting 'busted' for growing real grass. Plus the looks on thier faces
when targets start popping out at them.

I will add laser targeting for the targets to let them shoot back.
But use something like a wii sensor to let the target keep track of me so they
have a fighting chance. With targets able to track you, then you can add
cowardly BG, still going for it BG, and whacked out on drugs BG movements
to the targets programming. But I need to brush up on my logic board
design to add this bit in.

(Now would giving the target a six pack make it racist?)
What good is a line if you can't step over it just a little.

Um, NO ccw class is going to make anyone "an expert."
