Does anyone carry at work?

I'm going the other direction on this thread....

When are we going to rise up and get the laws changed so that one can lock their weapon in their vehicle on company property? Several states already have it in place. I'm sick of every six months to a year I have to sign that company policy stating that I will not have firearms on company property to include the "Leased" parking garage.

I agree. Florida recently ruled they can't ban you from keeping it in your car. They are taking away your 2A rights to and back from work. My guess is it is going to take someone going to court to change that, shame how things work .

I can't carry at my work, thanks to an old boss who made up a policy. It would be easy to, but if I were to get hurt, it would probably be found when they carted me off and bye bye job(I work industrial)

Well, I can freely say I OC my big hog leg (re XD45 Tactical 5") everywhere, to include my work. Of course I'm also self employed and work out of my home and a small office as a gunsmith.:lol: Too bad the ATF is being slow as molasses in the winter about getting me the forms to complete my licensing.

I only work part time and really don't need the job so I don't care if my Employer finds out (I'm retired and get bored sitting around on rainy days). He knows I carry away from work but he won't ask me abouton the jobbecause he knows I won't tell. As for them "inspecting" my vehicle, he also knows the answer will be KMA!

Everyone needs to make the decision for themself. If you feel there is a danger in your workplace you should address that with "management" first rather than just going ahead and carrying. The company I retired from spend hundreds of thousands of $$$ on security for the office after one of the women working there told HR she "thought" she was followed to her car one nite at quitting time. All of 50 feet from the front door, across the street from State National Guard Headquarters, and just down the block from the County sheriff's office. No bars, no strip joints, no "hangouts" for 3 miles but she felt threatened so they bought TV cameras, electronic access cards, built an entry door "trap", set up "escort" plans for the women leaving the building.

All in all the security was pretty good right up to the point your car left the parking lot. That's why I carried a firearm in the car. For the trip home with a stop at the gas station, grocery store, etc. Didn't worry about the office.

Charles, I picked up on this very quickly too. He's making comments in just about every post on the WA boards. Maybe he is just excited to be a part of this group and likes to post alot. I've just never seen anyone so new to the boards post so much. I think most people read as much as they can, and post infrequently with specific questions or good/bad encounters.

Well, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I do carry at work I carry every day everywhere I go. I have carried at every job I have worked at since the age of 18. I have only had one job where it was expressely forbidden I did it anyway, as did several other employees. I have open carried with some jobs but if discression is required to keep my job I use my Keltec 380 tucked into a pocket it is absolutey invisable. Also keeping larger firepower concieled and locked in my vehicle.
Long time no see agent 47 welcome back.

I carry a 380 pocket gun most people know I have it. They don;t care.

LOL I just realized I've overlooked a lot of comments posted on this thread.

I didn't know making numerous posts contributed to being suspicious. Are my posts in particular "suspicious", and if so, suspicious about what? What does it seem my intentions are?

First off, I'm laid off and unemployed at the moment, so to be honest, I have a lot of free time on my hands.

I enjoy being a member of a forum where I can discuss something of interest with other individuals who share the same interest.

If there are policies on how many posts I can make, then I apologize - I wasn't/am not aware of that.

If you think my questions are producing ideas beyond general curiosity, please know that they're not. I'm simply an inquisitive individual that may often ask questions that one may not normally expect.

Nope. I'm not 16 or 17 years old. If I were, I don't think I'd be legally able to carry a pistol, like I've mentioned I do, right?

Again, sorry if I've offended anyone with my questions and/or statements. I'm just having fun on a new message board!

Yup, saw that one coming a mile away. You're a @#$%ing troll, and out to create problems with people.

Next response will probably either to say "just kidding" or get all upset for "just asking questions" or tell me what a horrible person I am, etc...

Does anybody else find it odd that Aaron1124 joined on July 4 and in three days has started more than 10 threads and has nearly 70 posts? That says to me too much time on his hands.

SV, my take isn't troll -- it is rather he doesn't have the wisdom that comes with age to know not to ask those things.Thesubjects ofhis threads, and his questions and replies don't indicate maturity. I'm thinking 17 or 18 YOA, and the whole gun thing is just "cool." Maybe a MySpace refugee?

Aaron, if you want to be taken seriously here, take some of your obviously unoccupied time and read old threads. Read the FAQ. You will get a better sense of what this forum is about, the tenor common to posts and replies, what is acceptable and what is taboo.

Listen to an old man, and realize you can't be learning when you're talking (posting). Try listening (reading) and thinking about what you have heard (read) before blurting out an answer (post), and you will sound more wise and be taken more seriously.

Charles
If you don't mind, could you tell me which threads I've created that indicate a lack of "wisdom"? If you're referring to threads I've made regarding questions that are answered on the F.A.Q's, please understand that I didn't browse through the F.A.Q's before making threads. You also mentioned something about my replies as well. Do you mind telling me which replies you're talking about?

Thanks.

Yes, I carry at work. I also own my own business. Don't have to worry about "going around" company policies.

~ I was actually thinking of making a troll character ..

... I usually play a night elf hunter, though my mage and paladin are a human...

.... a Tauren might be nice too.... i do have a Orc Shamen on the horde side... But a Troll... hmmm.. sounds kinda fun.. What class would be apropriate for a troll ?

.. Ideas ??

same. but its just a short stop till the prosecution is over and its prison

prior job always carry even though it was against policy. i was in a shop uniform so i had a holster that went in the front of my pants with a small 22. if there was ever a bulge you could play it off. but how often do people look at your crotch at work anyways.

unless your a "*stripper" that is.

I don't carry at work. It's against the rules. It's completely within the law for them to prohibit it.... Just as I want others to respect my rights, I respect the rights of others; anything less would be hypocritical

Used to, but now that I work at a place with a more formal dress code, I find it hard to CC. Tried pocket carry with a Kel Tec PF9, but it prints too much when I sit down. Anyone tried the holsters that go inside the pants and strap around the waist, like a back support? Are they comfortable to wear for 8 hours, move around, etc? And do they print at all?
