It's 2011, Mary Fallin is governer... when is the vote happening for open carry this year? Anybody have any idea?
Good question. After doing some looking on the internet for any bills being submitted concerning new gun laws I was unable to find any. Apparently they consider the economy, education, health bill, and unemployment more pressing then open carry laws. It will come to pass hopefully soon. They keep saying good things come to those who wait. $#!+ I'm tired of waiting. It's 2011, Mary Fallin is governer... when is the vote happening for open carry this year? KOTV has an article on their web page stateing that new legislation will be introduced soon!
They're to be presented to their specific groups (house/senate) starting Feb. 7, 2011. According to the legislative sessions if they pass and are signed by the Governor, unless they are made for emergency passage they won't become law until November.
This is just the opening day of the legislature. They will vote today on rules and procedures. You need to contact your representative and have them vote in favor of the rule to force open debate on all legislation. That will prevent committee chairs from holding bills in committee so that they don't see the light of day. Specifically HR1004.

This is the link to the actual text of the bill.

This link takes you to the official web site. On the left is a "Find your representative" link.
It should have email and phone numbers. The best way to get the most from your contact, other than being there in person, is to call them. Make it short, to the point, and courteous. Folow up with email, but not a mass mailing email. Personalize it in your own words.
Ended up getting swamped with work... didn't get to do anything.
Anything new? What happened?
EDIT: according to OK2A.org... open government was turned down -- http://www.ok2a.org/
