New here (well sorta) but love learning from you all
HI, I OC in Chesapeake (well Hampton Rds) daily. I have not had any issues with anyone. Have noticed more males steer clear of a female with a gun on her side for some reason :banghead: I do like the :" I wont mess with her cause she is packing" comments.. like I tell them, I wont shot you unless I plan to attend your funeral, as orange isn't a good color on me.. they laugh and all is back to business.
I usually go to Wal-Mart on Lynn haven to buy ammo before going to the range, never had any employee say anything to me until other night, when after ringing up my purchase and almost finished bagging stating, "OMG your armed", umm Ok I am a smartass by birth, and said, OMG your right, you just now Noticed, you walked up behind me, around me, and watch me remove my wallet from my rear pocket and you JUST not see there is a 9mm on my side??? (other associate was in tears laughing) I however, said all that with a STRAIGHT face, waited for his comments. which the next thing he utters is, " I cant sell you ammo, it is a WALMART Policy NOT to sell AMMO to someone who is armed!"... Ok NOW I am dumbfounded. I have purchased ammo there every week for the last what 10-12 weeks, while ARMED.... and TODAY it is a issue???? He said, "it has always been like that, how YOU got away with it is beyond me".. oh yeah, my green eyes and shiny gun got me where I needed to be.. anyways, I asked, " and you would sell to me if I was concealed?" he said "there isn't a policy on THAT one" ... :banghead: (please know before anyone takes this out of context, not once was I rude, disrespectful nor did I laugh in his face, I was calm as could be..)
Ok, so once the other associate could get his composure he said he would escort my bag of ammo and mints to the front door, the shocked clerk was settling down. While leaving the escorting associate was asked by a manager where he was going, I stand there (INNOCENTLY as always) as the scenario is explained, and the associate was told to give me my bag of goodies and to carry on. I was told to have a nice night.
So ok.... can I purchase ammo while "packing" or not????
Thank you for letting me learn from you all
have a great day and
THANK A VETERAN
