Howdy Beau!
I think more folks on the OCDO forum might be interested in this information if they could learn more about it without a requirement to join another forum in order to read about it.
Really, the link you provided reveals absolutely nothing apart from a page to register for the COGO forum. Not everybody wants to do that.
Naturally, the question follows... why not just post the information openly and let folks decide whether to attend based on the information without compelling them to join another forum in order to get the information? Why not simply explain the what, where, when, why and how and let folks decide to attend (or not) based on straight up reporting of the event.
By posting a link where the information is not available without joining up for another website or forum is a bit underhanded, in my personal opinion.
You're using this forum to promote a competing forum. Does not seem ethical to me. It's like you're farming this forum for members to join a different forum.
I won't join another forum that I am unfamiliar with when I don't have sufficient information to make my own decision arrived at by mote of free will rather than being coerced into doing so in order to meet up with folks I don't know for a purpose obscure enough to avoid posting straight-up.
If the event, and the organization behind it, are legit, then post the information without requiring anybody to join another forum to make their decision about attending. Then, based on what they learn at the event in question, maybe they'll want to join that other forum on their own free will. Otherwise it just seems sneaky and underhanded.
I do not mean to sound harsh, but that's how it strikes me!
