Around 8:30 today, I was checking out in sporting goods at the Wal-Mart on Vets in Kenner. I bought some bullets, eggs, apples, and oatmeal. I was standing in line and I saw a Kenner cop (I thought he was a security guard). He swung over to my right side and I could see him looking to see if I had a gun. He asked me for my credentials. I explained I do not have to have a permit to carry the gun this way. He asked me who I was with and I said noone. He asked for my license. He called someone and told them my name, address (I told him my address changed), white male, etc. He asked me why I was carrying the gun this way. I told him since I do not havea CCW liscense this is the only legal way for me to carry. After I checked out he and someone who claimed to be a Wal-Mart security guard escorted me outside. Well, he said let's step outside, I guess to not cause a scene. The guard was plain clothed and did not have a gun or anything. He finished talking on the phone and started asking me erroneous questions that I could not answer. He said, "Common sense would tell you that carrying like that will alarm people", "If you saw someone carrying like that would you get alarmed", etc. He asked why I carry again and I said it is not illegal for me to carry like this. We then started talking about people that come to a place to shoot it up they have the gun concealed or already in hand. I informed them that Wal-Mart's policy was to abide by the laws of the state. The security guard said something like "Yeah that's right but... (something stupid). The cop told me that loads of people complained about the gun. (Interesting that they would send one cop to stop a terrorist.) They told me not come to the store like that anymore and I said "I will never come to this store again." We talked about some other things and the LEO asked me something else but I can not remember right now. It was important and when I remember I will post it. I am going to send a letter (e-mail) to Wal-Mart to explain the situation and inform them that they have lost a customer. I did not get any names because I was afraid they would get pissy(I xxxxxxxxxxxx. Not that it matters but I was carrying a Glock 22 in a Serpa Blackhawk. The first time I went in there there was not problem. I have been to that one, the one on Jeff Hwy, Winn-dixie on Airline, Subway, and a few other places. I never had a glitch before. This is unfortunate.
