Doing my best to try and be there tomorrow. Mostly because I want some knotty pine bbq and coleslaw. I had no idea they had a place in BA to be honest, it broke my heart when the store burned in Sand Springs.

I'll be the fat guy with boots on and a carhartt shirt. :p So far I have not told the wife, so I might walk in and be able to say "look honey, all those guys have their guns on too!" She's the paranoid one and never lets me tuck my shirt in, so I'm usually more or less CC with the occasional peek a boo of the barrel/holster.

Meet n' greets are fantastic for reluctant spouses - gives them a chance to see others in a controlled environment AND develope relationships (share stories) with other spouses.

She may even get to see other females carrying. That has provided the impetus for many to take the plunge. Have you taken her to the range yet?

Several outstanding reading suggestions for her: The Cornered Cat and Armed and Female - both are written by females for females.

I am afraid if the book is not some cheap romance or the new "mommy porn" type book, she won't read it! I have taken her to the range a few times and she carries a little ruger in her car. She got her CC probably 10 years ago or so. She's a real estate agent and I feel better knowing she has some way to defend herself should some creep do something. I'm trying to get her to get a holster now. It's a work in progress.
Also trying to get my 10 year old out shooting some. Turns out though he is blind past about 5 foot. Waiting for him to get some glasses before I take him out. Hate to have him get discouraged because he can't hit the target because he can't see it.

Here in this free land early for Saturday's to do. Ventured out into the cold and wet. Early dinner at Knotty Pine today. Easy enough to find. Lamost got hit by some one backing out of a parking spot! That would have ruined my day.
See 'ya ll tomorrow.

Im happy you made it, sorry i did not get your phone call we were in my wifes meeting in Kansas.
I think there will be news media there, not really what i wanted or intended, but with the tragedy of today im not surprised. I don't want this to be a political debate or anything of that sort, however not a bad way to show the public we are not bad people. I have my opinions i might discuss with people i feel are educated in the area, but now is not the time to take a stand on any issue, we need to focus on one, the many lives taken today and two, we are just wanting to have a lunch with like minded people, doing what is our right and something we are passionate about. I hope everyone can see it the same way. I planned this meet and greet a month ago, and id like for it to be just a meet and greet tomorrow at noon. RIP TO ALL THE LIVES LOST NEEDLESSLY,TODAY,YESTERDAY AND THE ONES THAT WILL STILL BE LOST IN THE FUTURE. GOD BLESS THE DEAD AND THE SURVIVORS!!!!

Did you reserve the party room or whatever they call it there? Seems they have the main dining area and then a private(ish) separate room. Me and the wife and kid will be there, probably won't be at straight up noon though. You know women. Plus a trip to town will mean we're also stopping at a dozen other places. It's like we gotta stock up or something, because you know Owasso is just a hole in the wall with no stores or anything.

I want to take this time to thank everyone who came out today to help support open carry, we had a great turn out and i enjoyed meeting all of you and listening to what everyone had to say. Keep your eyes open because Monday i will be going to the local restaurants here in person to talk with the managers and verifying there stand on firearms so i can have a few places already lined up because i think with the support you all showed today that broken arrow and tulsa are ready for a monthly open carry lunch. Again thank you to every one who supported us today.

Well i DVRed it but I have not found a link to it at all. It was very brief. Despite maybe 20 minutes of video taping it got maybe 20 seconds worth on the news. The point was great but still very brief

The "Patch" network

Many areas of the country are covered by local reporters with something called "Patch". If you google or what ever search for the name of your town/city/area with the words "Patch" you might find yours.... Here is an example of what my area patch had today, and many others are posting in a like manner:

Please include Glenpool in your meet and greet plans... I have been rating places on the friend or foe website. When i can i will go to more businesses and rate them.... So far open carry in Glenpool has gone very well. People are friendly, not one negative comment, Not so much as a dirty look...

Thats awesome. Keep up the good work and let us know more about glenpool. Currently we are working on plans for next months meeting. If you are on Oklahoma Open Carry associations facebook page we check in with me, gary Stiner or Josh Horst as we are actively seeking a place for all of Oklahomans (And out of state guest as well) to meet up and enjoy a good lunch/dinner and great company as well.

Freddies in Sapulpa might be a good choice. They have a separate area inside the main dining room or they have the big banquet room if we were to somehow get a huge crowd.
I'd have to call them to make sure they are our sort of place.

I prefer the mom and pop type places to eat at verses the big chain restaurants. I feel I'm giving my money to someone besides a big corporation that way. I believe in small business as much as I do my 2A.
