Keepin mind that any CC bill introduced will likely have restrictions on where one can carry. Many legislators are waiting for a chance to furthur restrict our freedom of carry. if you think oyr current restrictions that inconvienience open carry are excessive. Here is a list of where you can't carry in Michigan.

Schools or school property but may carry while in a vehicle on school property while dropping off or picking up if a parent or legal guardian

Public or private day care center, public or private child caring agency, or public or private child placing agency.

Sports arena or stadium

A tavern where the primary source of income is the sale of alcoholic liquor by the glass consumed on the premises

Any property or facility owned or operated by a church, synagogue, mosque, temple, or other place of worship, unless the presiding official allows concealed weapons

An entertainment facility that the individual knows or should know has a seating capacity of 2,500 or more

A hospital

A dormitory or classroom of a community college, college, or university

A Casino
These are essentially the incumbrances on South Carolina's "Law Abiding Citizens Self-Defense Act of 1996" Note how quiet is the South Carolina sub-forum of OPEN CARRY.ORG. I'm sure some would like to remove/repeal/rescind their prohibition but the concealed carry advocates are powerful and entrenched in the South Carolina legislature and law enforcement communities.

"Wisconsin Concealed Carry Incorporated" must abandon its provincial and parochial lack of principles and learn from the experiences of more progressive states.

SC's 'hospital' prohibition is expressed as "where medical services are provided", thus prohibiting legal carry in Doctor Wu's Aroma Therapy Salon and Herbal Medicine Parlor" because he claims that it IS medicine.

Thanks again Captain for a well written and thought out criticism of this ship of state adrift.

I don't think you got my post.

They sure did pass those nice laws after the fact and yep them house to house searches for our safety were pretty cool too. I'm not saying a permit is a de facto gun registration, obviously most of the guns are in the system somewhere. Being worried that my permit lets big brother know I have firearms doesn't concern me one bit, but I don't think we should discount any form of registration system (permits included) entirely as being used some day for unthinkable purposes. As we have seen our rights can be made worthless on a drop of a dime, some unknown event in the future might make the Katrina episode look like a drop in the bucket and those nice laws they passed will be about as worthless as the ones they violated the first time. I don't want to come off as a guy that watches for silent black helicopters (I think they have cloaking technology now anyway) but you know what they say about an ounce of prevention.

I like posting this video because there are still a ton of people that have no clue as to what took place there.

And yes I'm just joking about the helicopters.

I got your post I was just adding a little sarcasm

Visit your legislators in numbers

Unless people start writing letters, making phone calls, sending emails and stopping in to their legislators district office and push for a repeal of 941.23, some lame ccw bill like the one Gunderson will come up with will be pushed in front of Walker right off the bat.

That bill will most undoubtedly come with Fees, Permits, Mandated training and probably more infringements that will be hidden between the lines of the fine print.

Get off your duffs and make some contact with your legislators, NOW!

Amen to that. I think a good idea to get legislators to pay attention is to get 100 or more like minded individuals to physically go to their offices several times a week! Imagine how a state legislator will feel having his office jampacked regularly to standing room only and a line out the door with citizens who want something done now!

The way politicking works, you ask for more than you want at the outset and hope to get what you really want at the end. Starting out in a compromise position only guarantees you get even less of what you want.

Demand permit free, document free, and stick to it till there is no other choice.

Guys, here's how it works:
(for those of you who started late, or never quite got the "date you wanted" . . .)

(Gals close your eyes n ears now, I'm going to the man cave now)

If you wish to get laid... you don't ask for a hand job

Don't ask for a hand job n complain about not getting laid. Get it?

Sorry Moderators, but I just had lunch with Tim Allen and you know what PIGS MEN R!

*I'll go back to my corner and sit on my 3 legged stool* :uhoh:

But b4 I do, I'll say this. Before the recent election, the bills that had been introduced stood the best chance of passing. Which they did, but got vetoed. Now, with the changing of the guard so to speak, there is a tidal wave of change actually present in our legislature and the rules of engagement have (or should have) changed for language and "meaning" of CC bills.

While I have met and respect Mr. Gunderson's steadfast 2A position , I have to remind the old timers who sit in compromised seats from the days of old, that a renewed fight and position is absolutely required on this issue.

Ride the tide, and get what is due.

Well for CO anyhow...you don't need a permit to carry here. I moved here in the middle of September from WI, and I have OCed everywhere I've gone since, without a permit. With moving and wedding costs, I can't afford to buy a CC permit yet. So, I'll just OC since it's free and I can do it almost everywhere.

But yes, for WI, I do agree. Constitution Carry with the option of a permit would be the best thing. I will eventually get my CO permit, which will help me with the states I can carry in.

Except Denver County. No OC there, but CC with a CCW is perfectly legal as is car carry.

Dear Steven,

Thank you for your e-mail about Wisconsin's gun laws. I am a gun owner and an avid hunter, and I am teaching both of my sons about our state’s great sporting heritage. I have been a co-author of concealed carry legislation and I actively support the rights of gun owners, including the Castle Doctrine. I have always opposed attempts to limit our Second Amendment rights and our right to hunt, trap and fish under the Wisconsin Constitution.

I will keep your suggestions in mind during the expected debate on concealed carry and gun rights this session. I will be in touch if I have questions about what you have proposed.

Thank you again for writing.

Sincerely,
Mike Huebsch

Bronson,

Thank you for your email. We will be introducing a clean shall-issue concealed carry bill next Session, and we are looking forward to having a Governor who will sign the bill.

Sincerely,

Rep. Scott Gunderson

83rd Assembly District

Hello, Scott

Your favorite Concealed carry pest from Green Bay here. Been about a year since my last email to you. I guess you know what this email is about already, lol. Was wondering if you were going to be introducing concealed carry legislation when the new legislative session starts in January as we now have a Governor that has came out in support of concealed carry plus with a republican Majority in both the Assembly & the senate the time is ripe for a CCW Bill. we have the momentum.

thanks again for being our voice !!

What exactly is a clean shall issue bill, nothing clean about it, you want a clean bill introduce a Constitutional concealed carry bill, which would be clean. Hopefully, before the bill is considered, my proposed lawsuit would be accepted by the Mountain States Legal Foundation. The only worry I have is the time it takes to get thru the courts, it may not make it thru before the legislature enacts a “shall issue” bill, unless there is a way to expedite a lawsuit thru the courts.
