The Fredericksburg Police Department will hold its second annual gun give-back program Dec. 12 at Police Headquarters on Cowan Boulevard.

ROAD TRIP!!

And enough time to make signs a bit more elegant than on the back of paper shopping bags.

BTW - since I will be raiding the Xmas Club account do not expect anything fancier than stale Halloween candy in your stocking if something nice comes down the boulevard.

stay safe.

Those who turn over guns stand to gain nothing.
An industrious individual/s with a little bit of cash could really clean up.

Think I might head to F'burg with a little bit of cash and stand on the public sidewalk outside the LEO house that day.

I would if I were close. Let us know if you get anything good.

There is no "loophole" - what they did was illegal and constitutes malfeasance in office. The law in Virginia says that if one person pays money on behalf of that other person, it's exactly the same as if he'd paid the money to the person who then paid his expenses himself. So for a wealthy donor to pay money on behalf of the PD to a charity on behalf of the gun seller, is exactly the same, legally, as if the donor had given the money to the PD, which gave it to the gun seller, which gave it to the charity. That's called the "collateral source rule".

At this point, for me as a city taxpayer, it is the malfeasance in office that disturbs me the most. The current council is sitting by google-eyed and all feel goody while they allow their employees to mindlessly destroy what might be valuable assets that could be used to reduce MY tax burden.

I sure wish there was a way to hold them accountable.
