At least they warn us when the battery is about to go dead. Mine are very reliable. When the battery is about to go dead mine start chirping at 3:00AM.

I've got seven of them and they're all tied together so when one #$%^W#'er starts to chirp, they all do and there's no indication as to which one is responsible.
