My family just recently visited the great State of Ky and enjoyed the freedom of OC. I live in Arkansas where OC is illegal except on a journey. Both my wife and I Oc every where and even into the Princeton City Hall. Wow! what an experience from a state that has over 20 places that guns are restricted.
My wife chose to CC during a wedding and because I couldn't button my suit coat I chose to take my firearm off until after the wedding, I performed the wedding ceremony and my wife told me I looked like I had big hips.
We were able to carry in Princeton, Cadiz and Eddyville, not once did anyone panic. I even OC in a fast food joint knowing there was a State Trooper; little did I know that there was two, but not a word was said between the three of us. One man at the motel we stayed at asked what kind of weapon I had and if I was LOE or for self protection. I just wish I would have been able to carry in cadiz during the Hamfest but do to the wedding I could not.
I was able to talk to people about their freedom of being able to OC. Though many didn't see the need nor understand why my wife and I both carried they excepted it. I told them if I expect trouble I don't go but sometimes trouble finds me, just like wearing a seat belt.
After talking to a nephew from Wisconsin about OC in his state and a little about self defense, we, my wife and I, left to head back to the motel we were staying at about 7:30. After a good night sleep, we headed over to my sister's place and she asked if I had heard about my two nephews, one who lives in Princeton the other visiting form Wi. I said no, why. She told me that at about 11:00 that night the video store they were in, in Princeton, was robbed at gun point. They were both standing at the counter and the cashier had just opened the cash register when a man come bursting through the door held the gun to the cashier's head and demanded the money. He told the two boys, men, standing there not to move. He then fled out the door.
I asked my nephew what was going through his mind and he said this isn't happening. I has just talked to my Uncle about this.
I think I have two more that maybe looking to carrying.
