I do...I've said it many many times. As I have interacted with LEO's from all over the nation I have noticed one very similar thing....

I have been really upset after watching that. If my wife was the one arrested ,assalted and stripped for making a call for help it would become my life mission that they were no longer on this earth as scumbag officers. Take that anyway you would like, legally first whatevernecessary last.I thought a long time about responding but could not let it pass.

That EMT looks like he could've taken that whole mess of cops on. That was one big boy! Even when that cop had him by the throat, it looked as if he was still very able to react if he had to. I'd have backed off too!

I watched this video and am grateful there is independent media out there that will report on issues like this. I come from a family of cops, I have gone to school to be a cop, have interned with the Michigan State Police, and will be a cop in a year or two. I am about as cop friendly as you can get. I think that is why I hate "Bad Cops" as much as I do. I grew up with literally dozens of cops and their families and have decided thats what I want to do with my Life. The vast majority of cops are not Jack-Booted Nazis, and the fact some people are aloud to be "Bad Cops" amazes me.

I would however like to point out one correction to the video, though there maybe others. Not surprisingly it comes from the abc report. The Chicago Officers who were reported to have attacked the four businessmen who were "peacefully playing pool." The officers were arrested and went to trial, they were suspended since the incident, which was about 18 months, between the incident and the end of the trial. A Jury in a court of law found all of the officers innocent. The sergeant they specifically pointed out in the video had additional charges brought against him for using his power in the police department to "wave away" the police who showed up. The incident began when one of the "Peaceful businessmen" made fun of one the off-duty officers for crying. He was drunk and crying because he dad had just died of cancer. That officer is the one who was seen throwing the balls into the pockets. A fight started and the jury found the other two officers "who were seen grabbing the businessmen" from behind were trying to stop the fight and grab the third officer. The officers who stopped by several times thought a robbery had taken place, and left when the sergeant waved them away. The jury found the on duty officers who slowed down in their cars had no idea the man waving them away was a Chicago Police sergeant, as he was in civilian clothes, and worked in another area. I began following the story when I heard that he used his influence to wave other police off. I had seen many time when sheriff deputies didn't recognize my uncle, who was their sergeant in civie cloths, in a department of a 100. I thought it was impossible to recognize another officer of a department of 23,000 at a glance. At the trial it turned out the "peaceful businessmen" didn't visit a doctor for a week after the event, hardly meaningful injuries. In the Jury opinion, they also said they believed the "Peaceful Businessmen" had planned on a lawsuit against the city of Chicago if the criminal trail was successful, to the tune of a few million.

I do not mean to devalue this video in terms of a tool of information to use to spread the word about abusive cops walking on our rights. I just thought those cops who were trashed and didn't deserve it should have a rebuttal. I also found it even more important to point out they went to trial, as the video immediately after implies no action was taken against them. I was also a little suspicious that an incident that was a year long media circus in one of the largest cities in the U.S. should arbitrarily be used as a story because it had good media footage. Just as we view videos, writing, media etc. from our government with scrutiny, we show also view dissenting or independent media with the same eye.

A couple of things.

Just because someone makes fun of someone else for crying or whatever, does not make it OK to start a physical altercation. Ever.

Whether they waited a week to visit a doctor is irrelevant. If someone injures another, they ought to be held accountable. There could be many reassons why they delayed seeking medical treatment, not the least of which could be they underestimated the extent of their injuries.

It's like the video from the Ponderosa incident. Many people see video from it and just assume the OCer's in are being rude to the officers by not "cooperating". That's not the case, and they don't know the story behind all of it.

I watched the Ponderosa video a few times and DID NOT feel that anyone was rude to the police in any way shape or form. The large fellow (OC'er) with the short hair and glasses was especially professional and to the point. I had no problem with the OC'ers conduct toward the police on the video. There were a few times when the OC'ers wanted to engage in debate or argument but they were kept to a minimum.

The guy with the AR15 looks a bitconcerning to me. His appearance concerns me (the whole Arab neck scarf thing in particular in this day and age was over the top). His facial expressions (or I should say, lack of) were especially concerning. I thought everyone else was fine.
