However it is an insurrection that I think this would stir up. Remember Iraq, remember Afghanistan, a small portion of the population kept our great and power military busy for 10 years. 300 million guns in the USA, 100 million gun owning households. If 10% of those households resist that is 10 million households.....not a pretty pictures for any governing power. Not something any military wants to contemplate. Never mind the idea of shooting ones brothers and sisters. No friends for all our sakes let us hope that this travesty does not come to pass.
you're also talking people who live sh*tty lives with little oppurtunity for improvement, and really for most of the extremists fighting us in afghanistan, the very idea of dying and going to paradise almost seems like a bargain compared to how they live now.
We're pretty much rich and comfortable, are you going to give up your relative wealth and comfort to resist?
I don't think the majority of americans possess that inner strength to do so.
why do you think there was widespread violence in the union era and industrial revolution? becuase big business was treating the workers so bad that it was more comfortable to fight then to take it. We are very comfortable in our current society, no one will be getting violent against the government until they begin starving or can't get any health care or basic supplies, then the people will revolt and overthrow the corporations and the government and install a murderous socialist regime that be even worse. We've seen this play before, no matter how many times we watch it the ending ain't getting any better. the only hope is to reform with non-violence within the current system.
