I went to my local Vintage Stock in MWC and they had a "No Weapons" sign posted. I talked to the lady who claimed to be the shift manager (sadly I didn't think to ask her name until I was driving away) and she said that this is corporate policy and it is because it is a "kid" store and that they could grab a weapon or be influenced or something. I figured I would post this so that anyone else who likes the stuff that they sell would be aware. Also below is the "contact us" that I just sent to corporate. Supposedly they will get back to me within 48 hours, but we will see.
What is the corporate policy on firearms at your stores? Specifically, do you force law-abiding citizens to be defenseless in your stores (as the criminals won't follow signs banning weapons), follow state laws on the matter, or allow stores to make their on policy on the matter?
I ask as my local store in Midwest City, OK has a sign banning weapons and the person who claimed to be the manager said that this was corporate policy.
If this is corporate policy then I would like to both ask you to consider letting law-abiding citizens defend theirselves while in your stores, and let you know that should it stay the policy I'll be letting various gun-rights organizations know so that people who care about their rights and self-defense know to shop elsewhere. If this isn't corporate policy I would like that information as well so that should my local store refuse to remove the sign I can show them the actual policy to have the sign removed.
