Dean,
WTF??
Finally a thread with some constructive action and feedback instead of rampant arguing and name calling and you post this.
You need to get some sleep after coming off of long shifts before being allowed to touch the send button .....

These threads are like the TV..........if you don't like it, change channels or turn it off.
It makes me laugh if you want a laugh read his post history, the majority are curt (some might say rude) and shows his contempt for others.
Good job Goose! No yawn here the squeaky wheel gets the grease. It takes effort and time it took me almost a year and a few phone conversations to get Bellingham Municipal to finally follow state law. No ID even requested now. I am positive you will with continued perseverance have the same results.
Goose, M1, Jt59, etc....
We need to pick SVG's brain on this one....

I'm up for a Bellingham trip. Give him my ## if u have his Nick...
I just did.
Really quite a volume of work . . . .
Slim pickings according to some.
Maybe we should have a Bellingham or a Burlington meet. It really was just persistance and not giving up. I also went in when I had a court date, with no ID and no CPL ( well except my Costco card, went early with a back up plan as not to miss my court date), they at the counter were at a loss at what to do, especially when I explained that they (the city) might be liable if I ended up with an arrest warrant because they didn't follow state law. Ended up talking to the a city Attorney again, promised me again he would look into it. I told him that wasn't good enough as they had promised for the past year to "look into it" and no changes have been made.
I informed them I had another court date coming up and that I will not be carrying any ID or CPL. And that if I don't receive the key to the lock box according to state law they are liable for any damage/loss. Well what do you know the next court date boxes were moved they give you the key. It is in a locked hallway and you have to be let in but they do follow state law now.
Yes you have some good info and thoughts but the way you come across and the way you talk to folks leaves something to be desired.
Good job Goose. I love seeing post's where someone has challenged the law to abide by the law.
Is there anything documented showing that you absolutely have to show id when checking your weapon? Did you by chance check any news for a record of the court house needing an ambulance to see if they were telling the truth or just yanking your chain?
Maybe this is what you need...

I have a sneaky suspicion they may also be "observing" your serial numbers and running your weapon, which would violate your 4th.
It would be interesting, maybe a piece of tape or such, to see if they removed it to check.
