I would say that rule number one should be to have a good lawyer or at least the contact information for a good lawyer.
Rule two remain calm and hope they don't treat you like a king
Rule three do not argue or get into a pissing contest like people arguing over states
Rule four record the event however it will probably be tossed out as hearsay
Rule five the cop has the upper hand so refer to rule 1 for a remedy

Oh yea it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have a bail bond insurance policy if you are argumentative.

It was explained to me by a cop that the guilty are easy to convict but it is the innocent ones that you really have to work at. That being said rule six is- don’t get chatty the LEO is not trying to be your friend.
