. . .and when your future friend figures out that your canted hip holster has been aiming your pistol at their knee, they're supposed to feel better that they didn't know until now?

You forgot to add the canted holster pointing at their child's head/chest area when they stand behind you as well :shocker:

It is all on how you look at it from outside the norm. Normal shoulder carry / OC is not normal, thus some seem to think it is not right.  :uhoh: Just an observation.

What difference does it make? If you CC with a shoulder holster that points straight back to the rear, your jacket/coat/blazer isn't going to make carrying that way less of a threat than without the garment concealing it. what changes is the perception of danger. What concerns me more is the danger on the draw, should you ever really need to use your firearm. Drawing from a shoulder holster without proper training and practice is hazardous because you will likely sweep something that is not your intended target. in a high stress situation, you might perform to a less than ideal standard.

Not saying you shouldn't carry this way, but of any method of carry, a shoulder holster is probably the one which demands the most proficiency when it comes to muzzle awareness and draw/shoot skill. I've practiced this from a shoulder holster and I'm far from ready to carry this way in public.

Yep. Once they know, then they should also understand that it doesn't matter. But as long as they are uninformed, I'll make some effort to consider the comfort of others. This does not mean conceding open carry, or carry at all. Just little things like the shoulder rig being closed on the back, so no one looks up in the elevator and realizes they are staring down the barrel. Mechanics are all the same either way. Just the appearance is different.
