Didn't Hawkins get the gun from his dad? If so, what the heck was his dad doing with accessible firearms around the kid? If I had a child doing drugs, mental problems, suicidal, or any one of those, ALL of my firearms, with safety locks if and ammunition would be either in a gun safe he did not have the combination to or taken to a friend's or family member's house excepting my CCW weapon which would be in a small biometric safe in my bedroom when not on me.
