I think the preemption alone is worth some trouble later on. But I do understand the sentiment of going for broke, unless broke where you end up. Texas was the first to restrict all carrying/wearing of handguns (in about 1871), and we are still fighting to get it back. Our path is baby steps, but generally moving forward. And every state is different.

There are always those ready to throw away an opportunity, or to compromise when none is necessary. And they generally are the ones making the most noise and getting noticed as "the voice of reason" amongst all the "crazy gun guys."
