I had an appointment to take the test for LESA Dispatch and Communication Officer. The test was to be taken in Tacoma.
The last time I went to get my CPL, I had to go into the courthouse, it was easy and they had the metal detectors at the entrance to the building. Empty your pockets into the try and walk through...
Today, knowing to request a lockbox or a deputy to secure the firearm before going through the metal detectors, I did. I arrived 15 minutes early, expecting the process to take no more than a few minutes. It took the deputy 10 minutes to go from the first floor to the second floor to secure my firearm! Well after giving him my firearm and spare mag and going through the metal detector, I went to the LESA Records area. One person was at the counter and I had to wait to speak with the lady. When they took off and I got up there, I asked her about the testing and I find out that the testing is done in a building across the street! :banghead: Well making my way to the first floor and across the street and down a little ways to the other building, I end up being 2 minutes late! The lady at the counter in the 955 building was nice enough to reschedule me for Sunday.
I went back into the 1st floor on the front of the courthouse and went through the metal detectors, up to the second floor and requested my firearm back. It took 25 minutes for the deputy to come up to return my firearm and magazine!
While typing this, I just received a call from the lady who administers the tests. She said that she made a minor mistake on scheduling, and instead of the first testing time I was told to go, she moved it to a couple hours later. She understood what had happened and said that it's fine, just come in on Sunday to take the two tests.
I did ask her if I am able to carry my firearm or if I should leave it at home, and she said to leave it at home. I don't know if the building they are testing in is a federal building or not. I'll find out from them on Sunday.
