Well 3" is 6.5 times better than a 0.45" with my blurry vision.

I have finally got some special shot to cover the entire door frame.
Microscopic steel balls, have about 250,000 of them now, will load ~15-25K per
shell. They may not penetrate much, but will deffinatly find any whole in the armor
Faceshields should get a good sandblasting making them very opaque.
Have to wait till march to try them out, as I need to upgrade ranges venting system
filtering to trap these babies from getting sucked into the fans and grinding
them down. Also need to figure a way to recover 'spent' ammo. Probably
massive electromagnet will be best. Figure to loose about half of them
till I find out what penetration is like, and what retains shot best as a back board.
But it should give a sawed off shotgun affect without the law breaking.:celebrate
Just remeber that shock affect is also a great timesaver for our side.
That is why my xenon strobe lamp is also at the ready to take out night vision
equipment. Best little toy I ever bought back in the 70's. Definately kills your
nightvision for at least 15 seconds. And trough a starlght scope even better.

Yeah, but what if your intruder fills the cracks in his armor with tissue paper? There goes your "find any hole in the armor" tactic.

I'd suggest filling the shells with finely ground black pepper. Perhaps while they're sneezing you can put on your helmet, run past them and get away.

...Your "special ed" helmet...

As I recall... rock salt burns like h@ll. Never been shot with black peper
so jury still out. But I figure being pelted from head to toe will
cause a pause from shock of what just happened.
Unusual occurences tend to throw people off of thier game plan.
And who knows, they are steel, and I can pack in the powder, so will
give it a try. They will be used like needle bearings in a hinge I need to make so it
isn't like they are a total waste.

Maybe, but when I am soundly sleeping, and groggy. I want the spray of the shotgun.
If you're using quality buckshot, the only "spray" you're gonna get is a 3 inch pattern. ;)

If you're using quality buckshot you're also putting neighboring rooms and buildings at risk.

#4 or #6 birdshot is going to be just as lethal at close range (if not moreso) and is far less likely to put other folks in danger.

Now if you live alone in your house and you're out in the woods on some acreage, by all means go with some buck shot / slug / buckshot rotations in your tube!

Lets not forget good old fashioned "Buck n' Ball"; 3 00buck with a cut-down slug.
There are some factory loads made just for that. They look like they would be nasty.:celebrate

In addition to at least one handgun, within arms reach is a remote switch for the lights in the living room and my car keys. Hitting the panic button on the alarm keypad is effective to focus someone's attention in the opposite direction that I would be approaching from, possibly giving me a bit more element of surprise. Along with the remote for the home alarm system and it's panic button.

Oh, yeah I forgot, an 8 month old Malamute that can easily knock down adults. He is only 90 pounds but still growing.:)

I have three dogs one has to get through before you get in the front/back door. Then 1911a1 6' from me and several other through out the house. All are loaded with one in the barrel. All with enough extra ammo in magazines for what ever.
