You have to admit that "Opinion" is a classic waste of perfectly good oxygen and fertilizer.Gotta love that intelligent discourse. Good job, eric. :quirky
I dont know who you are and frankly I dont care, but coming here making a life threating/terroristic statement such as you did and telling someone they should hang themselves forusing the constitutional right of freedom of speech, isin un-human andis against the law. Just because someone has different views about the carry and possesion of firearms than you do, does absoulutly not give you the justification of telling them to kill themselves. If I knew where and who you are I promise I would immediately file criminal charges against you and ensure that you were placed in jail. There are to many people online now that take these comments far to seriously and do in fact take ther own lives. This is highlyun-called for.Opinion wrote:you should hang yourselfI personally think anyone who carries a guns is also carrying an extremely high sense of paranoia. It's common sense, they're afraid? It's also counter productive if you ask me, it's enabling all ages of children, teens and adolescent minors to rationalize the use or carry of their own guns or weapons in general.
Because, as we all know...everyone with a holstered gun has had their house raided, life threatened, car stolen, loved ones harmed, fought in some sort of war (if they've served time it's okay because they're ready for terrorists!), child abducted, etc. Let's get real, 90% of all people with guns don't even need 'em.
Someone without a gun is no more susceptible to the ever changing dynamics of reality than someone equipped. If you're robbed, you call 9-11 the robber bolts. That same robber breaks into your house realizing you're threatening his life with a 9mm he'll show you the same gratitude in return and guess who'll be actively and readily equipped for the encounter as opposed to someone in the leisure of their own home?
The entire point of being a criminal is to have the upper hand in every situation imaginable and common sense serves if his or her life is threatened no matter the scenario, occasion or hypothetical model someone is going to die.

Welcome to private property.usingmy constitutional right of freedom of speech
Ok i am new here as i posted this same question on an other topic. First off i am in favor of OC and own several firearms my self for home deffence. I too laugh at those Brinks Commercials, for two reasons. Break ins like that dont happen in those kinds of neighborhoods. second reason, no burglar is that stupid to kick in the front door. Got off topic there sorry......here is my question. So how many of you actually live in a bad area which you feel the need to OC? ie, gangs, drugs, etc are a problem in your neighborhood. I know i keep a gun near by as i sleep because i live in a crappy area. because of that i do not OC though. I feel in my area its just asking for trouble. When i am in an area that its not asking for trouble, there is no need to OC. So what do i do?
Since you live in LA, no offense, but you are in a bad area period. I personally also live in a bad area. I live in Montague County here in Texas and it is known as the meth capital of the state. The town in which I live is more of a retirement town for the working class therfore there is nothing for the younger generations coming up in age for entertainment, thereby resulting into constant trouble. And our local Police Department is the biggest joke I have ever seen. I live roughly 3 minutes depending on the traffic of 5000 people from the local police department and it takes them around 30-45 minutes to respond to a call and by that time the disturbance is long over. Therefore I consulted with my neighbors and we formed more of a shoot first ask questions later policy and then considering my backgroundI dispose of the evidence "cleanly".
I personally think anyone who carries a guns is also carrying an extremely high sense of paranoia. It's common sense, they're afraid? It's also counter productive if you ask me, it's enabling all ages of children, teens and adolescent minors to rationalize the use or carry of their own guns or weapons in general.

And THAT is why I OC.
And CC.
And carry a 400ml can of "bear spray"...
And a cell phone...
My granddaughter has her first birthday in November, and I plan to be there...
Courts are sometimes quite dumb. My wife was a juror in a murder trial in the 90's. After the quilt phase, or the sentencing phase - not sure which one, the names of the jurors were read and each was asked if that was their verdict. Now the defendant, a now-convicted murder, was sitting right there with members of his family and friends in the courtroom, hearing the names of the jurors read out.I received a letter from the DA in my county this week. I have been subpoena'd as a witness in a case that involved an assault and robbery of a guest that occurred at the hotel I worked for last fall.
Court date is the first week in July.
The fellow being charged already has a rap sheet (drug possession, assault of a female, obstructing, tresspass) and is only 19 years old.
Currently he is being charged with Common Law Robbery and Felony Conspiracy (in this case) and also has charges of PWID Cocaine and PWID Marijuana, and Possession of a WMD (Sawed off shotgun) that stemmed from the investigation and search of his home.
I stopped by the Sheriff's office yesterday to get my fingerprint card made up for my UT CHP, and asked them if they could tell me if this fellow was incarcerated, or if he made bail.
The deputy was very helpful, and printed out a copy of his mug shot for me, and shaking his head, he let me know that this fellow was out on bail. He also let me know that this fellow's attorney had a complete list of all witnesses, which he got during the "discovery process". I said "that's a LONG time until trial..."
He said, "I wouldn't worry about it. These guys are usually cowards, and he's gonna be layin' low until his court date." Apparently, I must not have looked too comforted by his assessment, because the next thing he said was:
"Do you have a CHP?"
I told him yes, but I usually "open carry". He just nodded, smiled, and said, "OK".
I thanked him for the information, and went on about by day (and week) a little more alert than usual. So I get to be on "SA level red" for the next month.
Gee, thanks, NC Court system.
