I believe that to the point of religious displays should not be payed for with tax dollars on government property. That's part of separation of church and state. If you want a display in a courtroom then build a statue of the constitution, not something particular to a persons religious affiliation.

The government is not allowed to make any law respecting an establishment of religion. It specifies nothing about whether the establishment is government funded or not.

As far as I am concerned they are neutral. They honor all faiths, and respect those people of those faiths. Just because you may have no faith is no reason for those with it to be imposed upon, which is what you want. You have admitted you are not forced to pray, so you sole complaint is that others do, or that you may see it. It is laughable.

Do you deny that the federal government has taken pro-Christian actions that it has not similarly taken for other religions?

You have not proved where federal government has forced anybody to pray, or that they believe. The government in some cases supports the people, a large faction of the people are christian, so you are demanding the government to oppress them. Bugger off!

I've explained before. Religion is the summation of one's belief of a creator. Each individual member of the government has religion. It can't be separated out of our reps. thought processes.

Some claim atheism is lack of religion but this is false. It is a religion which holds as it's core belief that there is no creator. None of these beliefs are provable and so should not be definable by government. So, the government is prohibited from making a law respecting an establishment of religion. It can't even pass a law enforcing atheism.

Everybody is given the holiday off, not just Christians, and nobody is forced to buy gifts, go to church, or pray. It is nothing more than a day off, that is it, don't like find some work to do that day. Leave the rest of us alone.

The Constitution protects the minority against the majority if and when the majority attempts to infringe on the rights of said minority. For example, you would almost certainly invoke this principle that underlies the very idea of a republic if the majority of the country was anti-RKBA. That you would NOT invoke Constitutioinal protections for the minority for a First Amendment issue makes you a hypocrite. I, as a consistent person, profess the idea that the Constitution protects the rights of a minority against the majority regardless of the issue, be it RKBA or religious freedom.

Perhaps you should bugger off to some anti-liberty hellhole, since you seem to think that Constitutional protectioins for a minority are only valid in areas that you personally agree with.

The problem is the people are not harmed or forced into worshiping, they are given a day off. Probably President Grant realized that most people did not want to work on the holiday, and wanted to observe at home, and gave them the day off. To be fair he gave everybody the day off.

NOW you come along and want to take away the day off for everybody because you hate Christians. I hardly look upon a day off from work oppression of any type, and claims of such are well....
