I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion on Det. Urquhart, I'm sure he's "just following the rules", no problem, but when the police are NOT allowed to protect the public, due to policy, we have to protect ourselves, and telling people they need to "think long and hard" about a decision that is a "God-given, Constitutionally-protected right", I think he may have worded that a little better. It seems very demeaning to me that I have to get "permission" from someone that can't work outside the box.
BTW, this happened in 2001, there were 2 guys doing this in our neighborhood, the boys in the neighborhood were all being approached by one of the men and subsequently they told their parents (even though the boys were told they would be killed if they talked), we made several complaints to the KCP and were told that they wouldn't do anything unless there was PHYSICAL EVIDENCE (that's waaaaaay too late for my liking, since the guy was already not legally supposed to be near children).
Lets just say, the KCP really dropped the ball on this one and our children payed the price for it, but, at least there was no breach of "policy".:banghead::banghead::banghead:
