Speaking of compensating; as a woman with a 3" barrel, what am I compensating for? Striker fire envy?

Interesting. As a guy I would have thought that limp wristing would be more of a deal breaker in solo shooting events.Recoil, definitely. If you lose your sight alignment, it's much harder to finish...shooting. So no limp wristing!
